This is my conversation with Satoshi Hirata and Tatsurou Ueda. It took place on 11/21/2021 from his home in Tokyo.
Stella Lee Jones is a progressive rock band formed by Satoshi Hirata in 2009, in parallel with his contribution to Asturias. The band is a leading figure in "constructive" progressive music scene in Japan. 1st album "A FLOATING PLACE" was released on December 28, 2011, and has been highly acclaimed by fans and critiques. 2016 saw the release of much awaited second album "Escape From Reality."
About Tatsurou Ueda
I was born in 1962 in Tokyo, after graduating from a public high school I attended Drury University in Springfield, MO, Spanish major /German minor with added studies in French and Italian, graduated in 1984 after 3 years. Entered IBM Japan in 1985 where I had sales, service development and management, and M&A career until taking early retirement in 2014. Several jobs after that including Linux, corporate software, startup COO, strategist at IT consulting company, all the while loving music and independently supporting musicians in and out of Japan, including concert promotions, authoring and translating liner notes to CDs.
