The classic 'ping' sound that Irwin Allen 70's shows had when aliens would appear always makes me smile😊
Irwin Allen was a genius! Fantastic series!
Written by Rik Vollaerts. I was one of his writing students. A dapper guy with a dapper moustache.
Fascinating. I've seen his label on several vintage shows.
Hi from Canad👋 Thank you very much for posting th8s for u to watch. Great job on the clarity of the episodes👍👍👍
All the crew kept in shape being tossed port/starboard/port/starboard/port/starboard 😊
YEAH,..."THE SEAVIEW ROCK AND ROLL"!!!!!
Jack Lalane was in charge of special effects. 🙂
Muchas gracias por compartir tan lindo recuerdo de una inolvidable serie. 😊❤. Muy buena e interesante serie con muy buenos actores como David Hedison.
Irwin Allen had no time for things like a transporter, in Voyage and Lost in Space creatures and things just appeared with a ping!
Or when the pinging got too expensive, they'd resort to old school explosions to accompany the teleportation process
@@arkhammedik Indeed!
@@arkhammedikSo pings are expensive? I would have thought that the ping effect is cheaper than the invisible explosion.
@gorillaau Back in the 1960s, pings were exorbitantly expensive. Siemens had a monopoly on pings, so Irwin Allen had to import them at great cost from Germany. Flash-bangs were found to be more cost effective.
I did not know that! Are you daring to imply Irwin Allen was cheap!!!@@arkhammedik
Thank you
You're right. Nelson does seem a little irritable. Even Morton seems a mite touchy. Maybe Crane is irritable because once again he has another alien trying to take him over. And he , "DON'T LIKE IT". 😮😮😮 14:05
and next vintage tv series,,,TIME TUNNEL or LAND OF THE GIANTS,,please,,,,😊
Would someone PLEASE lock that Control Circuit door?!?!?! Either that or replace it with a better door, lol!
Yes!
ONE OF THE GOOD SHOWS------
A LITTLE LONG IN
THE TOOTH.....BUT
GOOD😁
THANKS!....
Meh...I had all my teeth pulled in October 🫤
Long in the tooth,, but good just like me. 😆
Lost in space!😮
I love the way the Admiral tries to get the Captain back from the alien and says 'At least let us die together' that gets me in the feels every time.🥹
2:08 Seaview Rock and Roll!
Masters of the universe. I didn't know He Man was in this episode
Watch these with my kids this and Lost in Space. 45 minutes I know where they're going to be in one place. Good great family entertainment! Now we have talent shows and singing competitions....🙄
On another note: who WASN'T being taken over by some sort of alien force on the Seaview!? LIKE EVERY WEEK LOL
Yes, "possession" became standard issue during the spook-laden, new and revised season 3. An interesting book on TV and Geopolitics mentioned that this "new look Voyage" was offering a metaphor on the modern risk of "losing individuality to strong exterior forces". Much later, ST:TNG offers the Borg.
Admiral Nelson, at times, seems more like someone's cranky, drunk uncle than he does an admiral.
This episode has very little visible crew. I wonder if it was budgetary issue when it was made.
Yes, it WAS budget. Another "skeleton crew" episode. Season 3 got the wallet trimmed that year. After New Years, some of the remaining season episodes took a cut to make up for more generous allotments earlier in the season.
Wow these aliens are almost scarier than the phone company!
I must congratulate you on the quality of this episode and all the other ones you have restored, you did an AMAZING job, even though I'm watching the episodes on my phone it almost feels like the characters could jump out of the screen 🙂🙂
I'm impressed 👍👍
Thanks so much! But be careful with your phone - those characters might make that leap, and then what would you do? 😁
@@TooleManTV I'd probably freak out 😄😄
Jerome. Thank you for the thumbs up.
I am also impressed by the quality, the images are crystal clear and colorful. 👍👍👍
Always an alien wanting to take over the planet. Captain Crane gets possessed more often than any other crew member. His brain must be Silly Putty, easily manipulated.
Season 3 got a hefty budget cut and for commercial reasons, especially overseas sales, planet invaders were less costly crowd pleasers. Yes, possession became a dominant theme with the switch to spooks and Saturday Matinee Serial delivery.
Some of the music is from Bernard Hermann'sThe Day The Earth Stood Still. Always creepy, and a perfect choice when the alien shows up.
Yes, it can be heard at 24:51
And ANOTHER tool box that just happens to have a loaded .45 in a drawer! The ship’s Master of Arms must be really busy checking all those pistols tucked all over the sub! I guess the arms locker is only used for machine guns, rifles, laser guns, stun guns, belts and holsters, grenades….
Everyone seems testy in this episode.
Especially Admiral Nelson. I noticed that, too.
Top episode! The script and direction are a little bit hit and miss here, but the weird and doom laden atmosphere makes up for it. The freaky alien mask from Lost in Space, the echoing voice, possessed Crane and the use of dream like ripples when people teleport give it a great feeling of spookiness. End of the world story, always a great plot.
Thank you for that review. Much appreciated, a good tribute to the energy and imagination that went into this.
This actually is a good episode since the show was filmed at the height of the cold war.
Special guest star: Kanto, from Follow the Leader, a very good Lost in Space episode.
From the planet Questy.
Barney Slater wrote that Lost episode. I think he started slumping in season 2 with probably his worst episode being Curse of Cousin Smith. Horrible.
The best LIS epidodes are centered on Professor Robinson, in my opinion. Follow the Leader, Hunter´s Moon and The Anti Matter Man. There also other good episodes, like Condemned in Space, Mr. Nobody, but to me, Guy Williams should be the center of the series along the family relationship.@@nunyabizness6595
😁👍
OK.....did I miss something? I haven't seen this episode in ages. Was there an explanation where the whole crew, except for Kowalski and Patterson, were for this episode?
Yes! At the beginning, it's said that Nelson only took a small crew because it may be a suicide mission.
@@TooleManTV Thanks! That makes more sense than Nelson having approved too many crew vacation requests for the same week off.
So in other words, a budget saver episode, eh? 😁 ‘might be a suicide mission earth is doomed!’ Oh well, no pressure then….
Well, the world was going to end anyway, so why not take a whole crew?
I get it Chief 🦈 sharky and (chip)s a hoy 🍪😂
@ DonaldWells-wk8dc
Fun Fact Chief Sharky's First Name is Ethelburt , also the Middle Name of Wil E. Coyote.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Frightful. Positively FRIGHTFUL. 🙂
so did the radiation kill the alien?
Torpedo blast, I think.
Kowalski and Paterson are always getting clubbed, knocked out, shot and injured 🤔 An actor’s life…is not an easy one…especially in this episode….with the script 😉
I heard that both characters had to take early retirement due to the repeated confusion and PTSD of being shot every other alien encounter. Neither could remember to the aliens from one week of the next.
Yah, they sure thick skins, especially Kowalsk!
@@markbrisko8720Kowalski was in the first movie 🎥 of voyage to the bottom of the Sea, I think he is the only one of the crew that was in that movie. But I'm not sure can someone back me up here.
albertrandall. Yes, Del Monroe is the only Crewman on the movie Seaview who made the TV transition. Well, almost. Mark Slade, "Smith", killed in the movie, returned to do two notable appearances at the start of Season 1. I'll have to take another count. Slade 's "Malone" gets a credit for stillanother episode but isn't really in it.
Yeah! and remember they are all voluntary crew and they always get the job instead of someone else.
fun fact - the alternate title for this episode was "Attack of the Stock Footage"
🤣That's the working title for most of the episodes as the show wore on.
@TooleManTV Hi TooleMan, I just found your channel and subscribed, I was watching star trek continues and your channel popped up. Just wanted to let you know that I love Voyage and your Channel. Thank you!

Irwin was a cheapskate that awful cheap tin man costume it's terrible.
Did you ever see the carrot man in Lost in space. 😢 Talk about cheesy. 👎
Got to be fair to Irwin here. He didn't set the budget. It was created and managed by the network, the studio, the sponsors, the shareholders and other executive players. Nobody else had more to spend and Irwin had 3 shows that year, maybe overextended. Fox was losing money at the box office and took it out on the otherwise profitable TV division.
@@albertrandall2271Hey. That was a great Carrot!
Voyage was decent in only its first two seasons. But LIS only the first. Lost tried to redeem themselves in season 3 but still cheesy.
Cheese is good for you.
This has to be one of the stupidest shows ever made
Kid's only...
@@bloodgrss funny thing is I have actually watched a bunch of episodes lol 😆
