How does Nancy Guppy celebrate her 60th birthday in the mist of a global pandemic? You guessed it: she visits a gallery -- our gallery, The Viewing Room -- and, together with Joe Guppy, records her experience in this collaborative show with art and a Jennie Gruss curated selection of furniture from Inform Interiors .
Having produced everything from silly segments to poignant portraits and in-depth interviews, Nancy Guppy has hand-delivered the art world to people who might not have otherwise found it and earned the title of The Northwest’s Arts Cheerleader. With her roots in sketch comedy, since the early 2000’s Nancy has used everything in her power to call attention to thousand of artists and cultural organization throughout the region.
“What led me to focus on art outside of my own was a growing interest in collecting art and seeing and experiencing art- attending dance performances, plays, films, etc. The deeper I got into the art scene, the more I got to know artists, and that made me want to create a show that would shine a light on the artistic voices in my local community.”
