I deserved that without question. The only reason I chose to share that in particular is because when you read the lyrics about longing to be on the outside & remembering what it was like - I felt that a million times in jail. Ever since I used their music to keep my own sanity when unfortunate events caused the state to take me and my little sister away from our parents, I never found another band that would help me through such dark and hard times in my life. That was 13 years ago and ever since, I promised myself I will see them live before they retire. Still haven't, for one reason or another and now with covid, I doubt I'll ever get to keep that promise with myself so I've grown to accept it and settle for recordings of their live performances lol. But I love how people like yourself are still just discovering them and some of their greatest hits after all these years. It's awesome seeing that sense of enjoyment people give when reacting to these tracks for the first time.

So... This song has special meaning for me. I was really, really into metallica back in the late 80s early 90s, and learning guitar. I was at my grandma's house one day and my uncle James was there playing guitar. Now, I didn't see a lot of James. He was constantly in and out of mental institutions. He taught me riffs from this song and then two days later, my aunt found him hanging from the tree in their back yard from his guitar strap. I know that's harsh to hear, but it's what happened. Ever since, the song has been a close favorite while being very dark. Lots of memories and feelings.
