- FINALLY SHF GEAR 5. Was I wrong to be skeptical... HELL NO! But was I wrong that it would be terrible, yes. It's actually pretty great. It's a somewhat delicate figure and it's not really like much else on the shelv. I like it a lot, actually I'm going to get a second one to keep sealed, bc I have no clue how badly this figure could age. Might break a wire, it could yellow, it could massively discolor on different rubber segements. But you know what, I'm glad they really tried something different with him. And if they were to do a reissue, or a version with less accessories that is more mass produced, I think it could suffer aesthetically. Uhhh I want DLC G5 parts I guess?

the figure its great may has some flawS(but no figure its perfect even the super expensive hot toys are super delicated) but still a really good figure and i thing the rubber will be fine as long you dont let him on a extremely dynamic pose for much time but yeah i hope bandai or a third party company decide to make a accsesory pack for this guy with normal arms and legs or hell at least incluided with other figure
but in general its a really good release
(if you wanna have a funny display put this luffy along side a gyarados figure it looks like ¨we have kaido at home¨)

They should finish all the Straw Hats (Raid On Onigashima) and then do the powerups and different forms.
The cloud on mine came so loose out of the box it just flops down, though I'm not sure if I got a bad draw or it's a common issue. Otherwise really love the guy.

I do wonder; are figuarts regular Luffy faceplate compatible with this guy ? I never got him (and Zoro) but got most of the line and end up with a bunch of Luffy face with no purpose

Nothing is compatible except that hat. Just get the Luffy, he's $35 and on reissue, appears to have fixed most the issues I had. Or send me all your DLC muahaha

As much as I want this figure, I’m gonna wait until they rerelease it and fix the issues with it like they did with Raid Luffy. 🤷♂️

I feel like people are waaaay to worried about the bendywire to be honest. I have a Bender figure for ages now and it’s still perfect. Yeah the plastic has yellowed due to its age and poor storage, but the wire and the rubber or pvc (whatever it is) are still in top shape. As long as the figure is treated with the basic care it deserves for a figure in that pricerange and with that type of engineering, there is no reason it shouldn’t last for years and years. Obviously if you treat it like a 10 dollar Playmates or Mattel figure, than good luck if you want ot to last for another week.
It's the fact that it's a bendy/articulation hybrid,bending against fragile joints is extremely stressful especially on an $85 figure that's sold out everywhere
