  • Sky News host Rita Panahi has discussed the 2024 Eurovision song contest which took place in Sweden.
Ms Panahi said there was “so much controversy this year because Israel made the finals".
“So many of the artists taking part have been horrendous to this poor girl, who was booed throughout the performance,” she added.
“She was apparently in tears afterwards.”

Eden cried from relief when it was all over. She has had contestants refuse to take hotel rooms on the same floor as her (wtf), she's been bullied and insulted by people like the rabid leprachaun from Ireland, she's faced hostile joirnalists and death threats and at no time did she exhibit anything other than strength of character, respect, intelligence and grace. She has Ukrainian and Baltic roots, born in Israel, but moved to Russia soon after and spent most of her life in Russia building her singers career. These were incomplete votes, most likely from fake numbers putting through votes. The votes were incomplete and couldn't be vetted, EBU is investigating. RAI who published these put out a statement
Regarding the publication of the results of the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, in the closing credits of this semi-final, Rai specifies that it was a technical problem following which some data - completely partial - were mistakenly highlighted in the graphics of the Italian national vote. These results, pursuant to the Regulations of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, can only be made public after the final evening. Rai promptly apologized to the EBU leaders and believes that this inconvenience does not affect the regularity of the final result. The published votes are in fact incomplete. In any case, Rai has already spoken to the EBU, confirming its commitment to full compliance with all the rules for the rest of the event

There's too much sensuality going on for my liking. I'm 26, Dana international won the ESC in 1998 ( a trans woman) and I just grew up with the fact that trans and gay people exist, and they especially exist on the eurovision stage lol. Nah! Absolutely a big joke - only there to create more viewers because of the Pro-hamas supporters, they were sent in purely for that reason! Wrong on so many accounts. Israel is included in the competition since 1973. The entry in which a band, called PingPong, waved flags of Syria was in 2000. That song was a total joke and it came out in the 22th place out of 24. The waving of Syrian flags by the band was done against the opposition of Israel Broadcasting Authority, which withdrew its name from the competition. Syria was never in the Eurovision and had nothing to do with this as a state, and probably not in any other way. With all due respect to the OP's feelings about the "perversion" of the European concept, the Eurovision is a project of European Broadcasting Union for it's members, and being a member of it is an economical thing more then anything else.
