I started using one of these recently, impressive tech, especially the yaw contol but a little overpriced IMO. Looking to replace the old system on my other boats soon.
This is Rebecca on Brick House. We are researching cameras for our boat now, for a multitude of reasons. This looks like WAY more than what we need, but WOW...can not BELIEVE the functionality of this!!! Technology has come so far..leave it to Raymarine/Flir though..they are always at the leading edge!
Yeah this one's probably a little bit heavy for you guys. Seeing as the price of this camera is about the same as a house haha. $175,000 for this camera, give or take depending on what you need for features. You should see the capability of the land-based and aircraft-based ones. Some of those ones can spot people 30 miles to 100+ miles away clearly. Hahaha. But I think those ones are like close to a million bucks.
The tech today is so unbelievable. The amount of equipment to protect the living is so high.

You will be able to see the effect of seawater on optical systems and thermal imager glasses wear out over time. Unless you took precautions.
how does it do in fog?
Carefull as when I tried the camera did NOT have full ONVIF support/compliancy and would not worth with Axis Camera Station VMS. I have not tried it with Milestone

Why doesnt the color camera deliver 4k video?
Because the higher the resolution the sensor is the less light each CCD element is gets. They are easier to cool to extremely low temperatures with helium as opposed to electronic or Peltier effect cooling. The other reason is direct superimposition of image resolution between optical and IR sensors in an image processing engine. Resolution or scale conversion between optical and IR pixel for pixel is likely going to introduce errors and unwanted artifacts that may make the image scientifically invalid should law enforcement decide to take said image into a courtroom

I know of some space nerd amature broadcasters who would love to mount this on their camera robot around Boca Chica Texas but this thing is way, out of their budget. This thing looks like it cost more than a typical house in Texas.
