      For a long time he was. See he faked his death after World War II because he was afraid of retribution but eventually he was found and managed to get the respect he deserved and was even honoured by Prince Charles and later the American people.

      Fake its own death is common in this kind of people. Check out the life of Francisco Paesa, there is a movie called "el hombre de las mil caras", he is "was" an spaniard secret agent that cheated everyone, amazing person.

      That's actually absolutely incorrect. His work was so meticulous that he managed to get the German's to commit resources to exploring ficticious allied supply routes. One of them was dangerously close to the real route but thankfully never got discovered before the brits teamed up with him.

      Garbo was the principal reason Rommel and his tank corps we're up in Caslis during D-Day. As horribly difficult as it was, it might have been completely impossible if the full might of the German military had been at Normandy.
