I think that wooly and Amanda are two halves of Amanda’s soul. Wooly is trying to resist against the virus that is spreading inside her soul, and Amanda is the part that has been taken over. I think they are connected, and Wooly is trying to protect the small fragment still inside her. When Amanda hears Sam or you answer something personal, Wooly is affected by it too. She has the faintest memory of her dad and what happened, and when it is brought into the light Amanda experiences these strong reactions. Wooly could also be evil, trying to force those reactions out of her so they take over.
Amanda the Adventurer could have been good, but she just HAD to be possessed by a child! Oh, and evil company being behind everything? TOO KIND! The only thing that can make this game earn my respect is if Wooly was the CEO of Hamlin who trapped Rebecca/Amanda.
