Omsk (where he is from) is right on the border of Siberia and the Ural Mountains. It is a nice city in Siberia, but it's only on the very edge of Siberia, not DEEP Siberia. I knew a family in Omsk. They were hard working, but the attitude is harsh or blunt. I never felt like the people I spoke to were polite, everything is "down to business" and compassion, empathy, kindness, sharing... it's like totally foreign concepts to them. Do this! Do that! Come here! Go away! No "please" or normal conversation, the city was pleasant, the people were not. At least having this soldier in captivity is one less rifle pointing at Ukrainians.
He is speaking quickly and nervously. Indications that he is saying what he thinks you want to hear. This is why you can not rely on the testimony of a POW. His motivation is solely on survival and he is defenseless in the hands of the enemy. You simply can't trust what he is saying.
This is the time I explain that the Ukraine military have to do their best to try to keep at least one pair of socks and footwear dry and feet clean and dry. I know this to be near impossible in the coming months because of the muddy season however this is necessary to prevent trench foot.
So fed up of seeing and hearing about these heartless manchildren who are hellbound on achieving status and power. The worst thing that could possibly happen is that they achieve it and puff up just to lose it all in the end. Justice will be served anyway and if they don’t find humility they will get just what they want, Jesus Christ will let them find The Hell they are so feverously chasing after. I do understand that I don’t have the full picture of what’s going on there but still generally speaking.
This soldier is a perfect example of most soldiers in a War that involves a Draft/Conscription. I'm glad he didn't try to show fake empathy.
