I like how this wasn't just another card lore video (though I'm obviously privy to anything having to do with Ayakashi/Yokai) but instead, you also explain how the deck functions and what combos you can pull off with them. Very nice.
I know you mentioned how Mill is a weak strategy in Yu-Gi-Oh, but honestly I've had a lot of fun using a Mayakashi deck with Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower and Soul Levy with the standard Zombielock combo. It's 5 cards milled per summon, which stacks up *quick*.
I love Mayakashi! Its theme and playstyle is so cool to me. I found a Mayakashi/Shiranui hybrid decklist a while back and it's my favourite variant! Mostly for the lore tie-ins. Looking forward to the Shiranui video!!
Honestly, I feel like Mayakashi and Shiranui were just designed for Bolt Tanner and Hunter Payce from Yugioh 5D's. Think about it. Both are Synchro Decks, which is 5D's premiere Summoning Condition. Mayakashi are based on Yokai, which is what Bolt Tanner's canon Deck is based on. Shiranui are FIRE Zombies, which makes them a perfect replacement for Hunter Payce's Burning Skulls.
they can be strong when paired with the shiranui like squire spiritmaster sunsaga spectral shade/sword and book of life and uni zombie which can be searched with shiranui solitaire
I actually built this deck out of curiosity! I pulled a few of their cards when aiming for Rocksies, so I said screw it and looked it up on YGOPro I then found a really cheesy OTK/FTK using Soul Absorbing Bone Tower, thanks to the insane amount of Special Summoning you'll be doing. It isn't hard, either. You really just spam as many summons with Dakki as physically possible while SABT is on the field. One climb from Oboro-Guruma to Gashadokuro, then using Dakki to go into the Link 1, then Dakki and the Link 1 (and maybe a Yuki-Ona) into the Link 3, equals about 24 or so cards being torn from your opponent's deck. God forbid you do that combo twice
Gashadokuro was a Disc One Final Boss in the Kakuranger TV show, which was used to create Power Ranger's third season. He had two forms, one of a human punk rocker named Demon Jr. and the other of a skeleton soldier, which answered to his true name. My favorite scene in the entire series is when Jr, in his punk rocker form, holds a concert for his minions, calling upon the forces of darkness to revive his father, the true Big Bad of the series. The Kakurangers fight him, and get their asses kicked, forcing them to go on a training mini-arc, then come back with new mech (the Ninja Zords) and completely demolish him... which was part of Jr's plan, since he had to sacrifice himself to open the final seal and release his dad.
This and Predaplant are probably my favorite decks right now. Mayakashi is very simple, but I think they're actually fairly effective if you start with enough board presence to get to get to Yuki Onna L4. Negating and Zeroing monsters up to twice per turn on graveyard plays isn't bad as long as you can swing quick effect revives on your opponent's turn. If I had any actual issues with the deck, it's mostly that you're playing kinda slow until you get the synchro climb going so you need to hit Hajun and Dakki ASAP and I feel bad making my opponent wait while I dump 11 cards out of my extra deck in 1 turn.
I had the misfortune of playing "against" (it was no contest) a Mayakashi deck once, and the person managed to pull off the Link Climb twice in one turn. Synchronized Realm might get in the way a little, but since you probably won't be fielding a wide offensive board on any early turn--especially if you run into negation--the damage it deals can pile up quite quickly. Just one copy on the regular climb nets 2500 damage, and that's assuming you pull off the most minimal version.
Yeah, that was...pretty embarrassing to watch live xD Thankfully, YT has a trim function, so I'm gonna do try and prune those little mistakes. The backing audio is gonna jump a bit, but I'd rather that be the weird thing in the video than dead air and repeats.
Ha just realized the background noise sounds same to the music used in the duelist of rose ps2 game. This is the first vid of yours I have watched if this is a theme you use sorry
9:40 I disagree with you, good sir. Have you ever spent 20 minutes looking for a parking space just to end up being denied by a double parker? If that's not gonna make you summon Zarc, nothing will.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed!
It
My friend and i have fun theme deck fights where his mayakshis fight against my shiranui deck. Tons of fun honestly and would love to see more support
That sounds like an AWESOME set up, glad they make for a fun match-up!
I love my Mayakashi + Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower deck.

Oooo, that does sound pretty spicy!
One of those Master Duel replays had a unfortunate soul play a Maxx C on a Mayakashi player. And they got Bone Tower out too.

Sometimes, you just gotta run a deck with flavor! Glad to hear you have fun with them!

Thank you, that means so much! I hope it help!

Geez! I...I think I'm in love, that's so cool!
i was beaten by this FTK twice in Link Evolution and recorded it
They're theme should be the yo kai watch 2 boss theme
Got sent here from Hardleg. Love these kinds of videos. And the long dueling videos are gonna be great for work.
I'm glad you like them, thank you! I have a few videos I use for that too, so I'm glad to pay it forward xD
The yasha yuki combo you talked about is actually very good, I run mayakashis constantly and yasha helps

Since I'm playing yugioh duel links again I thought the mayakashi was interesting since I got some :D Thank you for this! Very enjoyable+informative!

Because of this video. I build my Mayakasi-Eldrich deck. ❤

I really need to make a deck around Yuki Onna (aka best zombie waifu) but also Mayakashi&Shiranui. This helps
Thanks !!!! 😍
I little ways off from Shiranui, but we're getting there!
The curse of zombies strikes once more. Having shit cards that require generic support to be barely playable
Nova, I know Mayakashi Winter is neat. You don't have to say it twice :D
17:10 and 17:23 for reference :D

Right now Mayakashi has a chance to be a zombie stun deck
Ha just realized the background noise sounds same to the music used in the duelist of rose ps2 game. This is the first vid of yours I have watched if this is a theme you use sorry
Yeah, I use it fairly often, and I'm always glad to hear when someone notices 😊
@@GoldenNovaYugioh No worries still never finished that game keep getting stuck
I call the reverse climb effect strategy the Mayakashi Reincarnation Festival
Oooo, that slaps!
Hey could you mayby do a Gouki video?
No one mention he has eldlich living in his head
9:40 I disagree with you, good sir.

Ayy have you seen the new support? Broken af
I would like to build this ďecķ
Running it in Master Duel pretty good
Shiranui Squire X Dakki is
