Been subscribed for quite some time now and today's video is 100% the reflexion on why I keep waiting for Lex videos every week: he's honesty and humility. Amazing Q&A.
Lex, you are an experienced player, so I will go ahead and make this comment. When you had 10/10 with top set, at showdown you tossed your cards towards the pot which is always close to the muck pile. Why do that !!! It puts your hand at risk!! I see players do it all the time. Why not just turn your cards over on the felt directly in front of you? Why take that risk? It makes absolutely no sense. I’ve seen bad things happen many times over my 25 years playing live poker. Just a word of friendly advice, don’t do that.
I was going to make the same comment. Don’t ever do this. Don’t ever leave the decision up to the floor no matter how slam dunk you think it is. Always turn your cards over right in front of you. Those cards are your receipt to the pot. Don’t let them out of your playing area for any reason. Never toss them out to the center of the table unless you are mucking them.
@@lucasongaming554 not a fringe rule. I’ve been playing poker for 25 years and I’ve played at many many casinos and Card rooms. I don’t know of any of them where your hand is not ruled “dead” if it touches the muck. Face up or not.
Love a good heater 😎You ran really well, however, you also played your hands incredibly well. Especially enjoyed hearing your thought process. All of us plebs thank you!
i've played somewhere before where they would have mucked your TT that didn't turn up and touched the cards in the middle. you should control yourself to avoid being f'd
Love the videos! And thanks explaining about the you tube! Always watched your videos from beginning to end! Keep it up! May you make more money on you tube! 😅
I need to play this vlog from the +/-20 minute mark for my present wife. I'm an empty nester player of 15+ years with decent success, and while she TRIES, only accepts it without understanding it. THANK YOU for saying this out loud from a pros perspective! You have inspired me again, Lex!🥴😎🍻👍🍀
I wrote you a comment about a month ago I’m Manny from Miami. I’m really glad you’re playing 5-10 more and also great to see you running good again. Keep up the good work. Ps: that’s your game. Good luck buddy. Hope to see you at the Rock soon 👍🏻
Respect. Thanks for getting to my sleep schedule question. I played for 3 years pro and sleep was always insanely rough for me. Either way, love the vlogs and demeanor always. Keep doing you Lex
That would be a good question to ask: •What qualities/qualifications would rate a card player a pro? Or... •Top 3 qualities of a successful card player? •3 most common traits shared by the best (your favorite) professional? I would think that anyone whose finances are in the black, all income earned covers all basic life expenses, and are able to see monetary growth monthly (on average) with enough extra to cover travel expenses (to shot take/ WSOP for weeks) and/or reward self with some material items one might enjoy (Gucci Glasses, New Moto, New(er)Car, Additional Pet, High rise apt in city on the water, etc.). I'm pretty sure he's doing all those things and bought into a 10K tournament before. Why would you think he wouldn't or shouldn't be qualified as a pro? When was the last time you won/lost a pot equal to the value of a car? (Not a matchbox car either) Made a poker vlog that thousands around world watch? Sat down and wrote a book about poker and poker lifestyle? Just don't get why you would watch a vlog to the end and say something trying to cheapen his work without giving some insight?
Great video Lex, lots of great questions answered. My question didn't get answered but that's ok, I know you can't get to all of them. I did enjoy the video and I love your poker format, I learn from hearing what you are thinking. I try to guess how you will act before you act, that has helped me with when to raise and how much to raise. Keep up the great work buddy and good luck on the felt. Jay from central Pa.
Hi Lex, I forgot to ask a question, but luckily you answered a similar one. Enjoyed hearing about dating and potentially getting married in the future. Thanks for including the ice cream makes me feel less bad cos I bought a tub the other day as well. Well done at the felt!
Hi Lexo! Love the content. Was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable the questions were in the outro. Very insightful stuff! That sleep schedule has to be a beast...Love the advice on the bankroll management as well. What are your thoughts specifically on the amount you like to have regarding the stakes you're playing? Do you aim to have 20-30 buy-ins before you move up? Just curious. Wish you the best!
Thx. Good answers. Would still love to know how you decide when to muck vs when you show 1 or 2 cards when you don’t have to. Information is key in this game, and I’m trying to get better at the mental aspect of this.
I get more stoked for Lex vids than Brad Owen vids. Nice heater. You deserve it after all the run bad last several months. Lex, what is good bankroll management? How many buy ins do you need for the stakes you play and when do you start pulling money from your bankroll to pay for life stuff??
Well done. You've come along way since the days where you would flop well and then say "I feel like I could bet here but against these tight pros a check is best." You play a much more balanced style and you trust your own analysis of the hand. Very entertaining.
Definitely a much and isn’t a tournament don’t know why players can’t just face up their cards so simple be careful might cost you thousands in the future and this is coming from a professional dealer 🤷🏽♂️
Hey lex I go to hard rock and harrahs (WSOP in feb but really just a cash player) in the winter when I go to pompano beach hope to run into you! Huge fan of channel.
I agree with Lex-O Poker that on the dating streets being a professional poker player is inversely proportional to most women's interest in having anything to do with you. It's overwhelmingly reverse implied odds. Maybe try thin angle shooting and proclaim being a full-time CZcamsr first and foremost, who plays poker primarily to garner views and never-ending content, like Rampage. That's probably the +EV line to take. Truth is there are actually few less respectable/meaningful career choices out there than being a professional gambler. Most women will never be able to relate to just how rewarding it is professionally having a job where your main goal is to cool off tough, deep-stacked GTO Euro pros in 4-bet pots by flopping bottom set, or the job satisfaction derived from stacking a rec player getting out-of-line overvaluing top-top while sitting at a table way above his skill level! Enjoy the grind and run good bro
I have seen all your vlogs and like them all but by far I like this one the most as I think you are very honest and sincere… Keep up the good work and enjoy your journey. Wishing you the best always.
More Meetups will make you more comfortable. Not that you'll ever get out of being an introvert. Being an introvert myself, I enjoy pushing myself from time to time out of my comfort zone. The key is getting rest before and after the outing. It is draining. Plan accordingly.
Being a poker player of almost 20 yrs plus it's ssooo hard to have a relationship and kids n juggling time spent playing, n being a father but it's possible. I play 4 days a month and the other weekends I put aside with the kids.
In response to your comments: Kids are great if you get lucky, not so much if you dont. Luckily most turn out good. What about a vlogger meet up function (game), Mariano etc, that might work for you and them. Less stress for you and them. In reference to your bankroll management, do you have a percentage that you move to your home account on a winning basis? (I suppose you do) Your doing great. From Sidney, BC
What would happen at 9:25 if you threw your cards in the middle, intending to reveal your full house and they both landed face down by accident? They joke in the video you were mucking, but is there anything that could be enforced and have made you actually lose the hand? I don't play much live poker so not sure if this is a stupid question.
The way he threw them in and one landing face down the dealer had every right to call his hand dead. He is really lucky they allowed him to win that pot. All he has to do is turn them over.
In the 10's full hand, weren't you heads up with the player directly to your left? I've flipped cards similarly before but to show the opponent seated on the other end of the table. I get it's semantics but in that case I'd just flip them over in front of me so he and the dealer can see (and no risk of the appearance of mucking). Does anyone else do this in the chat?
In that JJ hand around min 6 when you wanted the call. A good subliminal “trick” that works very frequently for me is to very very slowly (almost imperceptibly slowly) start dropping my head. It’s a primitive/animalistic sign of submission. Some opponents pick this up and will instinctively interpret it as weakness and call. Try it when you want calls and see if it works for you!
Being in a relationship and playing poker, even semi-professionally, can be tough. If you find a woman who plays too, i think that could work. Good luck finding her Lex. She's out there.

Well the places I play at as long as the cards are exposed they are live until you say fold… maybe a fringe rule at other places though
@@lucasongaming554 many many places if either of your cards touch the muck, your hand is dead

That 10's hand was scary. Thought you almost accidentally mucked. Great session and good value bets.
Yeah that’s a muck for sure. I held my breath instantly.

On the first hand there’s a straddle and you open rip your entire stack, everyone folds. You win $35. You rack up. $1500/hour
