  • Holding Out for A Hero-Footloose-March 2015
This is from my high school's production of "Footloose" back in March of 2015...I was a junior in high school! Although I have grown so much since then I figured I would share this and might post the full production as it was filmed so well and the cast was stellar (considering it was high school)!! If you like this video please give it a thumbs up and SUBSCRIBE to my channel!!

this is what I got when I asked chatgpt to write an actor musician version of this scene
[Setting: A small-town dance hall in the Midwest. The stage is set with a single piano and a microphone. The spotlight shines on Ariel, a young woman in short shorts and cowboy boots, as she begins to sing "Holding Onto a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler. Urleen, Wendy Jo, and Rusty, also in short shorts and cowboy boots, join her as backing singers. Rusty is positioned at the piano, ready to play.]
    Ariel: [singing]
    ("Holding Onto a Hero")
Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
    Where's the street-wise Hercules
    To fight the rising odds?
Urleen, Wendy Jo, Rusty: [backing vocals]
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
[Ariel and the backing singers dance energetically, moving to the rhythm of the music. The camera captures a close-up shot of Rusty's foot as she presses and releases the pedal of the piano with speed and precision, her smile beaming as she plays the harmonies and sings along.]
    Ariel: [singing]
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night, I toss and I turn
I dream of what I need
Urleen, Wendy Jo, Rusty: [backing vocals]
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
[Ariel and the backing singers continue to dance and sing, their bare legs on display in their short shorts and cowboy boots. Rusty plays the piano with flair, her harmonies blending seamlessly with the vocals.]
    Ariel: [singing]
I need a hero, holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
Gotta be strong, gotta be fast, gotta be fresh from the fight
Urleen, Wendy Jo, Rusty: [backing vocals]
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
[Rusty's foot on the piano pedal is shown again in a close-up shot, demonstrating her skillful playing. The energy of the performance reaches its peak as all the singers, including Ariel, dance and sing with passion and enthusiasm.]
    Ariel: [singing]
I need a hero, holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
Gotta be sure, gotta be larger than life, larger than life, life
Urleen, Wendy Jo, Rusty: [backing vocals]
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
    (Ah ah ah ah ah)
[Ariel and the backing singers bring the song to a powerful finish, their voices harmonizing beautifully. The spotlight fades, leaving the stage in darkness, and the audience erupts into applause.]
    [End of scene]
