The call at 7:01 (ChW's 8th touche) is a disgrace to fencing. Foil is NOT sabre. I'd bet 1,000 dollars that the referee is a sabre fencer primarily. Only in the United States do calls like this occur. That would NEVER be called that way in Europe! If you don't believe, show this touche to S. Golubitsky, and ask what his opinion is . . . im sure he would agree that this call is not only wrong but really dangerous and unethical and bad for the sanctity of foil fencing! Ch.Watson does advance, stop; advance, stop . . . then Kumbla does PERFECT attack-in-prep. Even ask Kumbla what he thinks of this touche. It is so very sad that these types of calls are being made on national-level foil events in the USA. This shitty-foil-refereeing needs to stop.

He is a very strong foil coach and a very good foil referee named Adam Kaszubowski. If you don't think this call would happen in Europe you haven't been watching Garozzo fence
