This was a cool vid. I got my first pk ripper back in 78. I must have been NOS as it was the non gusseted frame and the forks weren't landing gear. They just said SE Racing BMX Innovations. I knew back then what now now, that's bike would probably be worth some serious money. I was gagging for a quad when they came out but I just couldn't raise the funds as a kid.
I've only been to Cali once. I went out there to do a building job and took my dad with me. We were based in Long Beach but the last night we were there, I drove down to Huntington Beach. My Dad and I are from the UK. We'd never seen the Pacific ocean. I took photos of Dad wading and we went back to the motel in LB. If I knew there was all that SE history dotted about I would have gone and looked around. I know I was near Foose's shop but I figured they didn't like people showing up asking for a tour.
It was the best three weeks of my Dad's life. I didn't like it so much as I was working the whole time. The weather was beautiful except for a couple of sticky days.
My Dad passed in '14 so it's a fond memory.
Such a dope history lesson. Seeing the letter from Scot while in prison, telling the history of SE Bikes was so freakin cool! Obviously it’s very sad too, but such a crazy piece of SE bikes history
