That's a Memory Base 128 you've found there for the PC engine. It sits between the controller and the console (inconvenient). Only works with some later Super CD-ROM2 games, but it does allow for AA (If I remember correctly) batteries to keep your saves alive. I had one for a bit, but never ended up using it since I had none of the games that it was compatible with. Fairly sure the original Shin Megami Tensei worked with it.

I see, very cool. Kinda funky it plugs into the controller port. NEC was all about this daisy chaining, haha. Thanks for the insight, cheers!

@@RetroReWire yeah initially I bought it thinking “oh cool I can keep my Rondo save alive forever with AA batteries” but it was not so.

Hi there. These shops provide online purchase?

    • @RetroReWire

Hard off has an online shop, but only select items are available for purchase. My understanding is that they currently do not ship internationally. Cheers!

Yeah Hardoff has an online store called "OFF Mall", but not every item in every store is listed there. When you go to a Hardoff store, you'll see only certain items with the OFF Mall sticker on them. This also means there is a chance that someone could buy the item from the physical store before you can complete your online purchase. OFF Mall does not accept credit cards issued outside Japan and does not ship outside Japan, but you can probably get around that by using a proxy buyer service.
