If we go far back to the time when the Great War of Mahabharata was about to happen between Pandavas and Kauravas, we’d remember a part where a husband gave up his wife while gambling and the evil opponents tried to dishonour her by stripping her down. Women have been looked down as an object of desire who have no purpose to serve. This attitude of the society also reflects in the rape cases in India. Lack of sex education, illiteracy, and attitudes and beliefs in terms of women are few causes. There existed a set of laws against the crime, which wasn’t at all in favour of the victim. But some cases challenged and changed the indian laws against rape and other crimes against women.
In this video, we will talk about two such cases that managed to reform the rape laws in India.

Instantly nirbhaya case the accused were given life imprisonment. What they were fightng for is death penalty which is a rare thingh in india and even brutal criminals like like nithari laal serial killing case and one serial killer who killed more than 44 women also serving life and not death penalty. around 45 lakhs compensation was given to her mother and atleast 10 movie made on that theme. Dont know how many times her mother featured on TV. And overnight laws are changed and made completely polarised under media pressure in 2012. THe following year in 2013 atleast 55% of the rape cases were found to be falsified and i am not saying this DELHI WOMEN COMMISSION said this.
However even brutal case happended in odisha called the infamous kunduli case. It didnt even came on any national news.
Point is not about nirbhaya but the place,,, the smae case instead of delhi if would have taken place in some remote area of odisha then nothingh would have happened.

u might say that even the highly eduacated ones do it , but actually they also were never so thoughtfull about it we need to make people more thoughful make them undersatnd why and how it is inhumane and so

The comment section is lit with not all men. That law is biased towards women. That is the answer to the question of why do these crime happen. Because as a society we want to ignore the elephant in the room and not even acknowledge that there is a problem. Don't tell girls how to conduct themselves teach boys not to look or harm. It's that simple. It doesn't mean all men ever. It just means let's bring up better children. More responsible individuals and let's teach that men and women are equal we are both human beings and a woman's life is as valuable as a man's. We also want to feel safe and secure in our homes, on the streets in a cab. Is that asking for too much?

The first problem is upbringing, no one is a born rapist but the environment a person be it a male or female grows up in decides the values and ethics that the person follows later in life. Not only the privileged class but the unprivileged probably need to be made more aware of these things. People need to be educated about the laws of the country.
Secondly the laws need to be put into action. Laws are made but just for name's sake and most victims do not get justice and the guilty party is not punished which gives freedom to more people to indulge into such activities.
Thirdly corruption where money can make a person speak or be completely helpless and quiet and political indulgence in court cases. Justice shouldn't when they say it discriminate between anyone and show biasness be it a male or female. The laws shall be equal for all.

Crimes against women are happening for many reasons like lack of sensitization, wrong usage and depiction of mythological characters, objectification of women in movies and ads promoting rape culture, seeing women as low and weak person, lack of awareness in school textbooks about women who are present in every field like STEM,art, literature,Armed forces...etc and also about women in ancient Indian history and mythology who contributed a lot to India's culture and freedom.....We need to celebrate them in order to keep their spirit alive.....And parents and teachers play a huge role in this.....
A one way change or approach doesn't help us....We need to approach the issue from multi dimensional view points and pick it out from the grass roots itself....

Fighting a case in court takes years and huge amount of money which is not easy to bear for most of the people . This is the reason why still with such reforms regarding rape cases still it is not touching the ground level because most of the cases cannot afford to knock the doors of the court .

Well fear is the only way to stop heinous crimes, justice can't be administered through courts especially in a our country where population is very large , capital punishments is the only way to stop this as such predators will learn that Justice is dangerous and it can be administered doesn't matter whether it's a robbery or a heinous crime like rape. That's what I think.
