If you wanted to honor the spirit of the idea though, we would probably call China and its allies the 2nd World.

Also there are different ways to identify Developing countries but in my opinion the most important are the HDI (Human Development Index, though it can't be used as a stand alone metric) and the "Sustainable Development Goals", the GDP is also pretty important but it puts ecnomical growth over humanistic growth. I study Geography :)
