It does work if you do it on the yoyo side, but it takes a long time to spin around so it is way quicker to do it on the loop side

I have this problem a lot so I found a new way and basically you hold the top of your string like you would when you are yoyoing, then just let the yo-yo spin and it unravels itself

There are Tricks you can do to reduce string tension as well. flying saucer will tighten the string and Upsidedown flying saucer reduces tension.

Basically if you have noodle string you should wind up the string carefully and rotate it to the left side the more you rotate the more tight it becomes❤

If you want to get your string loosen up, then you flick to the left and if you want to tighten it you need to flick to the right horizontaly

There’s another way while it’s still spinning do a foreword throw and pick up the string in your non dominant hand probably 4 inches away from the yoyo and kinda pull up on the string so it launches the yoyo just above your hand and push your hand to the left side of the yoyo it should spin around it a little and from there you can continue until your tension is neutral

When I was yo-yoing some years back I used to just let it hang on my finger and let the yo yo spin the tension out by letting it hang

I get too lazy to take the string off my finger so how I do it is that I hand the yoyo down and spin it in either direction for as long as possible and stop it. If it tightens it more, turn it the other way. Repeat until it's now neutral
