Easy Wafer Paper Ranunculus

In this video I'll share with you how to make an easy, yet realistic wafer paper Ranunculus without molds. The technique I show in this tutorial is very simple, and you can easily make this flower, even if you've never worked with wafer paper before.
BTW, Ranunculus was my first wafer paper flower a few years ago :)

Hi great job👍 i use the same technique for petals but for the center i use fondant,chocolat or candy melt spheres to be completely edible

To be honest, I never count number of petals for this flower. I do whatever suits best the cake I need to decorate. Sometimes I make large fluffy Ranunculus, sometimes much smaller. They all look different, but beautiful.

Thank you so much for your comment! It's a great question! To be honest, I don't know an exact number of petals. This flower is not botanically correct, and doesn't require a certain template and number of petals.
I made many ranunculus flowers using different amount of petals (for some of them I used just two different sizes of petals), and they all look unique and beautiful. I would say, with this flower trust your feelings - when you start assembling the flower, you will feel when to use more petals of same diameter, when to use bigger petals, and when to stop.
Wafer paper Ranunculus is very forgiving flower for experimenting :)

To be honest, I don’t know how many petals and wafer paper sheets I used to make this flower. I found it easier for me to cut out many circles of different sizes to make a few flowers at the same time, and assemble them on the go. This way all Ranunculuses I make differ from each other by size and how open they are. This diversity looks great and realistic when multiple Ranunculuses are arranged together.

Wafer paper flowers can last for a very long times. They can be stored for a couple years.
The best way to store the flowers is in a closed container or a box. They can become more brittle, hard and fragile over time - you can spray them very slightly with wafer paper conditioner or water.

Я использовала шарик диаметром 5 см, но можно использовать шарик меньшего диаметра, в зависимости от размера цветочка, который вы хотите сделать.
Для лепесточков я вырезала 5 размеров от 2.5 см в диаметре до 5.7 см.
Здравствуйте скажите пожалуйста сколько листов бумаги ушло на один цветок, и еще как хронить эти цветы и сколько их хранить.
Добрый день! Я делаю несколько цветов за один раз и храню вырезанные заранее кружочки в зип-пакетах; поэтому, к сожалению, не могу сказать, сколько листов необходимо для одного цветочка.
Хранятся цветы очень долго. У меня до сих пор стоит этот цветочек, который я сделала несколько лет назад :)
Я цветы храню в закрытой коробке или просто втыкаю ножкой в пенопласт (если тортик забирают скоро; чтобы он не собирал пыль).

Why do you not condition your petals at all before applying?
The technique used for wafer paper Ranunculus differs from other flowers that are posted on my channel. This flower doesn’t need conditioning.

Cuantos petalos por cada vuelta?
To be honest, I use different number of petals every time I make this flower. When I need smaller flower, I use less petals than for bigger fuller Ranunculus.
Where do I find the powder to paint?
I bought mine at Global Sugar Art online store (apple green and moss green colors). However, I’m sure that Amazon should also have these colors.

I don’t have a template for this flower. I cut the circles of 5 different sizes from 2.5 cm to 5.7 cm in diameter.

Да, конечно! Для этого цветочка я использовала шарик диаметром 5 см.
Диаметр самого маленького лепестка - 2.5см. Все последующие примерно на полсантиметра больше. Самый большой лепесток - 5см.
