  • Starting and stopping a gas honda engine is fairly the same from unit to unit. But each piece of equipment will have some different instructions in order to prevent damage done. Such as a pressure washer, it's important to know what to do so pressure doesn't build up to the point of causing damage. If you are ever unsure, pulling out the manual will be a great start!
These instructions were taken straight from the manuals for Powerjet Pressure Washers.
This video demonstrates how to start and stop the pressure washer. See our operating video to learn how to use it.

As the other person said, regular unleaded is correct. You can also use Ethanol-free gas that comes in an aluminum can from the hardware store. It is located by the lawnmowers, chainsaws etc... Not to be confused for the gas and oil mixture in the same style can. DON'T use that. That's for 2-stroke engines.

20 sec you mean 2 min and the way you started it with the water running is not good

I have heard about this but why is it not good ?

No, 20 seconds is correct. But better still, one should have the water flowing through the wand both when starting and when stopping the engine. And it is never a good idea to let off of the wand trigger when the engine is running unless your pressure washer is equipped with a release valve which prevents pressure from building up in the pump. You can well over heat your pump in under 2 minutes.
