    Hi there,
    I see through the link you provided for the product, they don't include Phosphorus in them at all. You said to look for one that has half and half but I can't find that anywhere. Do you recommend just using the calcium supplement from Breeders Edge?

    • @RevivalAnimal
      @RevivalAnimal Před 3 lety +1

      Brandi, that's a good question. We recommend the Oral Cal Plus gel to help with labor and contractions. It has 3 forms of calcium so it's both a fast acting and slow acting calcium suppliment which can help prevent Eclampsia during whelping and also post whelping. We also recommend the Oral cal Plus powder post whelping or the Doc Roy's Healthy Bones to help mom recover lost calcium levels. These have the 2:1 ration of calicum/ phosphorus to help with calcium absorption into the bones. Good morning Paul and Kerrie, we recommend to give the Oral Cal Plus gel at the first signs of labor when her temperature has dropped on degree. They will usually go into hard labor within 12-24 hrs later. We want to give mom a dose of oral cal plus every 4-6 hrs until you see the first puppy and then dose after every other. If its been approx 45-60 minutes and the next puppy isn't there, its okay to dose mom again. The oral cal plus gel can also be given post whelping for 3 days to help mom recover. We also have the oral cal plus powder to help with post whelping needs. Here' s the link> www.revivalanimal.com/product/breeders-edge-oral-cal-plus-powder?sku=63216-1232.

    • @RevivalAnimal
      @RevivalAnimal Před 3 lety +1

      Janel, that's a good question to ask. The Oral Cal Plus Gel, is given during whelping and also post whelping if needed. We don't give calcium supplements while pregnant because mom won't learn to pull calcium from her bones during whelping. During whelping the 1st initial dose is given at the 1st signs of labor at 1ml per 10 pounds of body weight, then 2-3ml each dose thereafter every 4-6 hours until you see the 1st puppy. Then we dose after each puppy. Post whelping it's ok to give mom a dose of the oral cal gel 2-3ml each day for 4-5 days along with the oral cal plus powder to prevent any calcium issues post whelping. Sheryl at Revival

      Good afternoon Yusdaly Brito. I would recommend to give mom the oral cal plus. These signs are symptoms of low calcium levels. Even though the calcium levels may read within normal range, trust what you're seeing. We had a very good vet, Dr. Bramlage who retired who always said," Treat what you see," If she acting like her levels are low, treat her as if they are. Its better to prevent an issue, than to try to treat an issue. The difference in Oral Cal Plus vs Calsorb, is the oral cal plus has 3 forms of calcium instead of 1 in calsorb. The flavor is also better so mom's like it more. Sheryl at Revival.

      I am at the same point with my dog ! She seemed like she started Stage 1 labor yesterday but shes not really doing anything but resting. She was nesting and dripping clear fluid. Should I administer a little bit of calsorb to get her going ?

    • @tony78909
      @tony78909 Před 3 lety

      @@lynnkuhnle3089 yes. If anything go to your local vet and schedule a c section. I lost my pups because there was bloody mucus coming out and one of the pups were stuck side ways blocking all of the rest of the pups in. I lost the litter.

      Good morning Keith. We recommend the Oral Cal Plus Powder post whelping. It contains the right amount of calcium, magnesium and vitamin D3 to help mom recover during nursing and also supports bones and teeth. We also recommend the Oxy Momma to make sure she's producing milk. If I have powdered Oral Cal, what dose might I use for a 95 pound mama … even though I know she would have to digest it I could mix it with something yummy. That or go right to the Doc Roy’s?

    • @RevivalAnimal
      @RevivalAnimal Před 4 měsíci

      @linireading506, We recommend the Oral Cal Plus Gel during a low calcium episode. It's absorbed in the cheek immediately for quick effect. The Oral Cal Powder or Doc Roy's Healthy Bones must go through the digestive track which may take too long. Sheryl at Revival.

      Thank you for your reply. My oral cal plus tube is expired I just realized and I have a litter due anytime. It won’t hurt anything if I mix it with a little ice cream to give her between Puppies will it?
      Also, I was very interested in Dr. Marty Greer’s pregnancy food, the Royal Canin HT42d. My guardian family has been feeding their girl royal Canaan intestinal diet and I don’t believe that’s probably nutritional sound for a pregnant dog so we were wondering about getting her switched over before the next heat cycle. I believe I heard her say you can only get it from Royal Canaan but when I Google it I don’t see how to order it. Would I just need to call Royal Canaan and find out about that and will I need a veterinarians prescription?
      I am so thankful for this subscription and to have the opportunity to listen to Dr. Greer’s knowledge across-the-board. Thank you so very much.
