I just picked up an AMP tool pack as a gift for someone. I was able to get it closeout for about 10 bucks. if I was paying full price I would have gone this way. I like the way the bag unzips so it can open flat. You do need to show those tools a little love and clean them up. Thanks for the vid.

Just bought one today. I work for Square D. I found myself in a situation where it was impossible to roll my stackable tool boxes accross a construction site. I had to empty my laptop/admin backpack and fill it with heavy tools and parts. I was afraid it would rip and emptying it made a mess all over my passenger seat. I'm also about to fly cross country to assist another region and this bag is perfect for a minimal essential tool load out that I can get on a plane.
I do wish there was a protected compartment in this bag for a laptop. I frequently need one on the jobsite for test data forms, technical drawings, and equipment interface for testing. I'm watching for loadout ideas. Thanks.
PS- aluminum foil strips rust like mad...for cleaning up your rusty tools.

I loved all my klein backpacks. This model had zipper issues after a year of constant use and abuse.
I upgraded to the hi-vis model which has imo better zippers. It also was different which I liked. Everyone had the same backpack and mine obviously stuck out.
I just purchased the klein master tool backpack and am looking forward to trying it out. I was going to go with the veto backpack but went with the klein.
I have a veto pro pack tech lc bag and it's good but it was just too heavy after all my tools. It was also difficult to get around with, going up ladders on buildings and such was a pain.
I might get the veto backpack one day but I'm a klein schill through and through.

  • @gmguy156
    @gmguy156 Před 6 lety +2

I have this bag. I started using backpacks since alot of accounts I go to have caged ladders.
Im on my second one. They did warranty the bag without issue or argument, united refrigeration did an over the counter exchange and sent the defective bag back to Klien. The rep from Klein was really cool with them on the phone and gave an RMA # right away.
I do have one complaint about it. Its hard to keep track of my Klein Stubby screwdrivers and nutdrivers. They get lost in the bag often.
I like the hard case compartment. I put my jumper wires, small screw drivers for changing thermostats etc. also keep other small items in there. I even keep a thread sealant in there which had never been crushed!
Its a good bag, and I notice each bag I get the part which broke previously has been redesigned or beefed up on the new.
Saves your shoulder also. Increases safety also by keeping both hands on the ladder. I am a HVAC Technician/service pipefitter and this bag holds up nice. If you buy one pay attention as different versions of the bags exist which affects layout and pocket quantity

I cut up old wash cloths and stuff them into deep pockets so that the stubby doesnt sink too deep. You can customize each pocket with cut up wash cloths for the individual length of each tool. Hope this helps. I do that for my veto bags also.

I got the Klein tools backpack as part of my tuition at a pre apprentice school. Its really good, but it doesn't hold textbooks. I can just get one binder in there. Its great for a toolbag, but when you have regular classes as well as shop classes, and you need to bring binders, textbooks, pencils, architect scales, etc and the code book (Canadian code is about 2 inches thick, not sure how it compares to NEC) you need to bring an additional backpack.

I am an electrician, I have used this bag daily for 4-5 years. It has held up to my massive over stuffing, zippers great! I keep a klein tool belt slung around it for quick access to my EDC. Not a klein fan boy, but give a 10/10 on this.

      TheAaron2442,
Thanks for your input man. I think I'm gonna try the Milwaukee Jobsite Ultimate tool backpack. I don't like how the klein looks like it just lays wide open, and I don't trust the zippers (not that I trust the Milwaukee's either). I hate that these manufacturers don't just use actual heavy duty zippers, like YKK or something. It's not a school bag, you know? Haha.
Edit: I also don't think this Klein will be big enough either. Now as for 'wearing' tools while working, I want a chest rig of some sort but can only find "Atlas 46" as anything even near a quality brand. It's really odd to me that this hasn't caught on yet. It's crazy.

Great video!! Although Klein & Milwaukee are great brands, I’d strongly recommend going with the Veto Pro Pac! It has the most durable heavy duty material and can support a very large amount of various types of tools. I wanted this Klein bag at first, until I discovered Veto Pro Pac. So if anyone likes using a backpack for your tools. Veto is where it’s at.

  • @HerbertHopkins799

I have this pack. Zipper is awkward. If you want to put a drill or impact in, it will fit but it has a shallow storage area once tools are filling pouches. I wish mine was about 4" deeper to accommodate a power tool or two.

I had the Klein bag for over 5 years and never liked it because of the way it opened and couldn’t fit large tools in it. I just recently picked up the Milwaukee back pack and so far I like it a lot more. I can fit more items comfortably in it with no problem. The only thing I think the Klein has on the Milwaukee bag is a slightly better build quality.

Maybe the quality has changed and for the worse. I have one and it's 2 years old. I started to regret buying it after its flaws became apparent over time. The pockets are saggy, cannot utilise all the pockets when others are occupied, the velcro on the flap pockets are pathetic and by far and worse of all is the fact that EVERY pocket is the same depth so any small screwdrivers or markers are not visible at all. So when it comes to easy access especially when working in low light levels you cannot see the smaller tools. It's mainly because of the pocket depth reasons why i have at times left smaller tools on the job because it has not been possible to visibly account for their presence in the pockets. My worst purchase ever.
