If you told me someone covered white rabbit I would roll my eyes. There are some things you just don't mess with. But then I heard pink do this. And DAMN. She did it justice. Well done
Same, well said
I believe even Grace Slick said this was her favorite cover of White Rabbit@@andrealb4363
I truely love the interview where the story writer tries to say Alice isn't about an acid trip.
Should listen to the Jefferson Starship version.
I don't think Grace herself ever did it as well as the album version, which I've been listening to since the day it first hit the turntable! This is a solid No.2!
She just sings it. No showing off, just honoring the original vision.
EXACTLY.
She did the exact same thing with janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby Mc Gee", you should check for her version, I'm very picky when it comes to Joplin, and I have to say she freakin' nailed it !
I LOVE PINK
I was expecting to hate Pink's version because there is only one GRACIE SLICK but she did a nice job. Touche' Pink!
props to her for that.... but why does it look like she is wearing her coat upside down?? is she on acid or something? (no big deal if she is, just wondering)
Never knew this cover existed, stumbled on it because of the new matrix trailer. This is brilliant! 👌👌👌
Matrix trailer is the Jefferson Airplane original with a new orchestral accompaniment. It's an amazing song, and Pink's cover is as good as the original. But the remix on the trailer is really the best.
Yup. Let's see how far the rabbit hole goes! 👀👁👁
Same here lol
Never gonna be the same... Jefferson airplane is so much better than this
@@AkiraNakamoto
I did. The trailer is Grace Slick. No question. You can disagree, but that won't change it.
At 70 years of age, I can confidently say that Pink nailed it. Superb!
Yes, superb indeed!
I thought pink was 80.
@@dmitriantonov2611 She's actually 92. And Looking good!
Meh, Pink did her job -- but this is overproduced. The "Wall of Sound" doesn't capture the starkness of the original musicians who were trying to capture the Bolero sound from Miles Davis' "Sketches of Spain."
@@spicetraders she is an Elf I believe
She was brave to even try this cover, she obviously knew she nailed it.
Absolutely brilliant cover
I agree she was brave to try to do this classic. & i didn't think any one could do give justice to this song but Grace Slick but i agree she nailed it.
You couldn't be more right.
Better than Grace Slick's original, and that really is saying something!
She sure did!!
This girl has the stones and the voice to pull this off beautifully
Not a big Pink fan, but you are absolutely right here. SHe nails this song.
The lady can sing and she sure as Hell is no one trick pony.
I’m not the biggest Pink fan but this cover is amazing. It’s just as trippy as the original
check out her cover of Me and Bobbie McGee
I used to think that Pink was just a superficial musical industry product.
After hearing this cover, i was amazed and i searched for other songs from and by Pink, and i became a fan. She is very talented, and also the sweetest badass that i know. Please take the time to watch and hear her cover Queen, or Led Zeppelin, or Prince, or czcams.com/video/6ZivtWrxqgM/video.html
I used to live just a block from the Jefferson Airplane gang in San Francisco, and for nearly 50 years Grace Slick's "White Rabbit" has been my go-to anthem. It takes a MAJOR vocal power to pull off this song in its increasing forcefulness, but PINK pulled iff here. I am both amazed and humbled, and embarrassed that it took me so long to find this version. Love this thoroughly, and she has a new and highly respectful fan!
It's only taken almost 50 years for someone to do a worthy cover version. I love this almost as much as I love the original. Very well done.
Have you heard this one by
Cathy Richardson? A little more energy than this Pink version.
czcams.com/video/mEDnnT88A3w/video.html
are u on drugs ?
It is a great rendition of the original song
Pink almost topped Grace
I have a badly recorder cover on my channel. It's my dad's favourite song so I gave it a go for him 🥰 If I ever had the good fortune to use a recording studio it would be the first song I'd record. Of course, that'll never happen, except for somewhere in my dreams
I normally don't care for an artist doing a cover of a classic. Classics are classics for a reason. I do however appreciate an effort that is worthy of recognition and Pink's effort is outfuckingstanding. Well done. Bloody well done.
Steven Bennett to give it some context, Pink recorded this for the soundtrack of Alice Through The Looking Glass, but it was only used for the trailer and not made available in full until a few years after, as a bonus track on a Japan-only version of Beautiful Trauma.
Songs are meant to be sung, if a song is a classic it has to be sung by other artists as a token of respect.
"Outfuckingstanding"??? I love that word, if you don't have a copyright on it I'd like to use it tomorrow if I find the opportunity.
@@hamstersniffer Sorry sniffer, the U.S. Marine Corps. has that quip covered.
@@hamstersniffer It's three words or at least one word nestled in another.
I'm not really a fan of cover tunes but I got to say I'm rather impressed with this rendition. She stays faithful to the original while making it her own. Bravo Pink.
This is an incredible cover!! She has the perfect voice for this song! I am so glad she didn't change it too much. I love her!
Covering a well-known, well-loved classic song of a music legend such as Grace Slick is rather tricky, especially considering Slick's incredible voice, but Pink does an exceptional job with this one - she has the talent & strong vocals to do it justice & perform it straight-on without adding unnecessary crap which would only detract from the power of original. One of the best covers I've heard.
The Bolero of acid rock , with of touch of space music thrown in .
Dave Brown Bolero is exactly what Jack Cassidy was emulating.
I remember Grace Slick mentioning that in an interview in Hit Parader , back in the day.
I never knew she recorded this. I’m glad CZcams recommended this to me - it’s fucking fantastic.
Yeah I agree I love this song. It serves as a bonus track on her Beautiful Trauma album.
This is how I discovered it too. Yes, the song is fantastic!
The 1st time I heard this version of the song was in a theater, in a trailer for Alice Through the Looking Glass. The trailer played the whole song. With the cinemas surround sound system and the volume really loud, Pinks amazing vocals with that musical wall of sound blew me away. This is an amazing cover.
Interesting story about your first listen! 🙂
Finally! I thought it would never get released! Such a good version! I'm glad that the great Grace Slick loved it herself!
EnterTheAttic is it from a movie??? Xx

now I am waiting for the full versions of Life Is Beautiful (Lana Del Rey) and Crazy In Love (Miguel) 😂 finally White Rabbit is here full

Kristin Marie Ose It is only on the Japanese Version of Beautiful Trauma
Far, far away the best cover ever done. Only Pink could pull this off. She has the voice of a superstar, not just a dancing diva like so many others that will go unnamed. And besides, Grace Slick said Pink nailed it. Nuff said.
Check out Haley Reinhart's version
Agreed, not a bad cover. But if you like a big rich voice, like the young Grace Slick, THAT would be Mary Fahl of October Project. Live at the TLA, you should check it out sometime.
@@johnphelps7519 I will, thanks.
I agree with one of the comments. I think Haley Reinhart´s version is the best so far, though I love Pink´s as well
Grace potter does it better!!!!
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all.
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall.
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall,
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call.
Call Alice
When she was just small.
When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low.
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know.
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead,
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said:
"Feed your head. Feed your head. Feed your head"
Honestly that’s a cover…staying true to the original. And Pink pushed her vocal range…nice work…a true artist.
She did really good! Grace Slick had such a strong voice and actually wrote this song. She really knew where she was taking it. I've always thought that people were afraid of White Rabbit because they knew they could never compete. Pink, Brava!! You had the guts and you have the voice. Absolutely beautiful!
I heard even Grace Slick herself loved it!
Well, it's one of those songs that's nailed so well in the original you've got to be 100% on point to even come close to it, don't you? If you don't have the vocal chops to belt out every last syllable without falter, then you're going to come up short when people compare you to Grace and Jefferson Airplane's version. Fortunately, P!nk's one of those once in a generation vocalists who can keep up with Grace Slick.
Now, if only someone would come along who could do _The Chain._ Like Diogenes with his lantern, I've spent a long time looking for anyone who could hold a candle to the original, and I have yet to find anyone who's done a satisfactory cover.
@@FrankieBonsignoreMusic apparently grace slick told her she nailed it
@@mikegucciardo3306 I heard too! Don’t blame her honestly 🎵❤️
Get over yourself
P!nk never ceases to amaze me. Can we acknowledge what a train this girl is? 20+ years of straight CRUSHING IT. I’m not even a P!nk fanboy but just about every time I come across one of her songs, she blows my mind.
Until a few months ago, i just knew the name "Pink", and thought it was not my cup of tea.
Then i came across her cover of this song live, and was pleasantly surprised. I said "wow, she really can sing!"
Then i looked some other videos from her, and now i can tell that in my opinion she is the greatest artist alive and performing. And she is a very very beautiful person, outside and most of all inside.
.
i encourage you to watch some of her videos, for example : czcams.com/video/6I4eSuazui8/video.html

czcams.com/video/SlTG440jfaw/video.html
czcams.com/video/6I4eSuazui8/video.html
But no matter which one, they all are great, especially live.
Pink is also the only artist who can cover Bohemian Rhapsody without being ridiculous, on the contrary, she is absolutely great, and i'm sure Freddy Mercury would have loved it

Wow. Never thought anyone could play a cover so great as the original White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane. Got a little choked up. THANK YOU PINK!!!
no no no teh first version is fm the geat society
Even for Pink this was an extremely tall order. When you’re Pink, though, you can sing the shit out of anything

She's a hell of an artist, not just a pop star. Legendary performer too
she nailed it. and i am a really big fan of grace slick. love that version, got power.
me too. also love Grace but this blew me away. if anybody's gonna pull off White Rabbit it's Pink.
All power.
I love how she keeps the original flavor and vibe and adds her own touch of P!inkesque to it. Well done!
I have not heard Pink's rendition of White Rabbit until just now, and man I gotta say she is spot on and extremely talented. I am impressed.
Me too, this is a rare cover I find worthy of holding a candle to the original
Now this is how you make a cover! Respecting the original while also putting your own twist to it 👌 P!NK is the best ❤
mickyjoe97 what twist?
Exactly the vocals sound almost the same.
It's great! It's different but doesn't stray too far. The guitar player is respectful of the song and doesn't overpower it!!!

I have goose bumps. Pink did a beautiful job on this song. Grace slick is a hard act to follow
I literally did too!
HOLY CRAP! This is awesome! Very well done. Thank you
This version of White Rabbit is really fuckin good. It has the same exact vibe as the original, but the modern production techniques bring the excitement to a whole new level, and pink sings it really well.
Agreed, the arrangement was outstanding
Pink has an absolutely awesome voice what an excellent rendering of a classic!!!!
Yes, it's nice to see a cover that pays such respect to the original style. Of course being a great performance by Pink and the band, is what truly makes the song.
No argument from this longtime lover of Classic Rock! Thank you so very much Pink!
OH MY GOD. just found this. this woman nailed it. I knew she could sing...I love her cover of 4Non-Blondes "what's up" so I figured I'd give this a listen. great stuff.
P!nk's terrific volume control leads us to the fiery crescendo! A march through hazy Wonderland!
Hard as heck to cover, both keeping the raw spirit of the original while owning it as an individualized variation. Great job
Holy shit wow this was so good!! Can you imagine if Grace Slick joined her and they played with dual speakers and vocal reverb?!
Charley Patterson, NOW! That would call for a mushroom!✌
The universe would implode. And it would be worth it.
This is genuinely one of the best covers of a song I've ever heard.
I was like 5 yrs.old when this came out. Thanks to an older sister, I could sing the whole thing before age 6. It's a song I go listen to over the years, Pink, you have so much of Grace Slick's talent, Attitude, but you keep who you are! This cover is the best, and you are so Awesome. Thanks for your excellent work
Man, I remember years ago when she first did this cover I scoured the internet for the full version but there just wasn't one out yet at the time. I'm so glad I finally stumbled upon the full cover this time.🤩
Definitely a tough one to cover. Like so many, I’m a long time fan of Airplane, but this is REALLY good. Long live the 60s!
It took ovaries on her part and I think she knocked this one out of the ball park
@Haley Ezelle You heard the woman. It took some big ass ovaries to cover a song like this one.
REALLY??? So I guess those ovaries are the 1 thing that made the difference???
What about talent, hard work, drive, and a litany of abilities and work ethic??
But hey, in 2021 if she/he/it/they has a pussy, they must be able to accomplish ANYTHING!!! ( at least that's what a bunch of fat, nasty, green/purple haired rug munching creatures try to tell me)
Well P!nk was 6 months pregnant with Jameson when she recorded this track. She was 4 months when she performed Just Like Fire the same year.
😂😂😂😂yes it did take ovaries to even try to sing Grace Slick!! Pink can sing too though!!
@@kevinstl9428 geez, relax. Did a person with ovaries take your job or something? You’re making a big deal out of nothing.

The one thing that I liked about this cover the most is that pink was able to keep the classic sound yes it did sound a little modern but she kept the classic beat to White Rabbit and I'm pretty sure Jefferson Airplane or Starship would approve very well done good job pink
What about Jerry & Darby Slick? Great Society? 2 x vinyl l-p of that group.
Well they had to approve in order for her to do it. Right? Wouldn't it be plagiarism if not? Someone had to of given her permission.
@@lancewilkerson5819 I think he meant more in the sense of approving the outcome (which grace actually did in an interview, the only cover of this song to get an approval from her) and not legal approval to do a cover (which as you correctly said, all cover versions would have to have got, legal requirement)
Grace slick publicity said Pink nailed it!

Pink has a full-range with her voice, and very pleasant to listen to no matter what she is singing...
Great version, but I like Jefferson Airplane better. Still, Pinks version is spectacular
Well of course. Grace in her prime was amazing.
I agree but technically, the Jefferson Airplane version was a cover too. Grace Slick and the Great Society recorded it first. That is also an excellent version, for the same reason, Grace was singing it.
Of course, the original is almost always better.

Hats off to P!nk did an amazing job on this cover it’s not easy but she captured the songs power and beauty
While I was in the Service, Friday or Saturday night, late, after much consumption, and the mood was getting mellow and deep thoughts abounded, we played deep music. White Rabbit was nearly always on the CD player during those times. I didn't expect to like this cover as the original brings back special memories of my younger self.

Loved the instrumental and the additional rock flare. Pink is a very gifted and impressive talent, however, pulling off such an iconic song isn't easy. Grace Slick is not only a rock icon and 60's movement figure, she's without a doubt in the top five of female singers in rock. It's kind of hard for me to divorce my imagination from Grace to Pink, but I do like that the song is getting attention. Hopefully, people will visit the original and be blown away.

This is bold. I adore Pink. From those red hair to the pinnacle of her musical and artistic maturity I have travelled along with her and I am thankful for every step.
In my view, she put her Pink signature on an absolute masterpiece, one of the symbols of an era long gone and yet not forgotten. Grace Slick was a very unique artist. Some people compare her to the legend, Janis Jollin. I am not here to judge. Thank you Pink for being respectful both to yourself and this part of our glorious past.
