Thanks. I had some buyers remorse right after I opened it because I bought another knife right after that. But I’m over it now. I’ll carry it right after I’m done with the Medford praetorian ti. I did take it with me yesterday when we went to work on our 5th wheel.
Congrats man. Very cool it shares your daughters birthday too. I have never owned a CRK. I have always admired them but never pulled the trigger on one. Looks like a solid folder👍👍🇺🇸
Thanks. Ya I probably didn’t need another one but it’s a sickness. I like them for what they are A pocket knife. Nothing fancy or fidgety about them. I think that’s why I’ve never gotten a SHF. Pretty much the same knife just less of a fidget factor. Let me know if you wanna check one out.
Yes, it has a ceramic ball that serves as both the detent and the lock insert. The other interesting thing is that it shares a very similar engineering with the Rockstead Higo and Hizen with a bushing pivot. Easy to reassemble, with really no tuning required. The stop pin is different, but both achieve a similar result.
My first Sebenza 31(small) was made on my birthday, by arrangements with CRK. The large is my favourite though, but it just has a random date. Mine are both S35VN and other than neither was particularly sharp out of the box, I’ve had no problem with either.
Awesome! Very curious to see what you think about it. Have a Small Sebenza 31 and Honestly, I was really surprised at how well it did at work. I didn’t think the steel or the smaller size of the knife would hold up but man, it really does just cut. It’s not razor sharp all the time but it really holds it’s own. Now I’m in the market for a Large 31 to see if I’m missing anything with the bigger size 👍🏽
Honestly I haven’t carried it since I opened it. I’m having some buyers remorse kinda. Since i have a large and small 21 I’m wondering if I should have went with an inkosi or spartan harsey.
Anyone who bags on CRK for tolerances or quality of any sort is totally off base. The “community” has become all caught up on bells and whistles and pretty things. If you actually use a knife regularly as the tool it is instead of something to just fidget with or look at then you would likely appreciate CRKs. The 31 is outstanding, second only to the Zaan imho. 👍🏼
Beautiful blade! I have an old 25 that I love. Did you see that custom that knife center or one of those just sold with the magnacut blade. I wonder what that went for?
I did an unboxing on one if you look back a bit. But right after I got it my brother had to have it and borrowed it. I haven’t got it back yet. Since then I’ve missed out on a ton of drops. But don’t worry I’ll either get mine back or get a new one.
@@ScotchNThings I've watched that video. I'm hoping he can lend it to you for a week so you can give us your opinions if it is worth the money or over hyped.
I have 15 large 21's and 5 smalls. Some are PJ, some inlaid, all s35vn other than a few damascus. I love all my 21's, drop point and insingo! The knife art CF ones are the best of all. It's the simplicity that I like the most about the 21. Like how the 31 uses two screws in the hardened stop pin, no thanks. The 21 has never let me down. I've seen too much about the 31. Lock flex, the clip wiggling over getting stuck, screws loosening w/o loctite... no thanks. I know some 31's are perfect, but it's a lottery at this time. I have so many 21's I'll never need to worry. I know I'm lucky and that's not an option for everyone. If I was new in the CRK game, then it would be 31's for me. But I got lucky getting in perhaps a bit deep when (for me) the getting was good.
Ya I remember when I got my 21 the 31’s had just started coming out. And I remember deciding that I wanted to go with the version that was Chris’s des the way he wanted it. I hope I don’t have any issues but we’ll see.
Ya I think people like to bag on crk and get hung up on types of steels without really ever using them. I’ve used the s45 and it just keeps going. And for me personally I’d rather have it then m390
I'm so sad i missed the chance to get a 21 while they were still made 😔 i've tried getting one used but i live in Sweden & filling out a customs form & shipping outside the Us is apparently to hard.
That’s a bummer. When I bought my 21 the 31’s were just starting to come out. I’m glad I got a 21 while I had a chance. Is there any chance of finding one over seas?
I have multiples of both, never had a issue with either. Perfect pocket knife in my opinion. Great video!

Ya I’ve taken apart my small 21 and my zaan. I like it when knife makers make it nice and easy to take apart and maintain their knives.

Ya it’s kind of nice when they date them and you can pick up one that’s special to you.

I also have a birthday on October 27))
Nice. It’s cool when you can make a special connection with a knife.

Y I’m liking the 31. Maybe not as much as my 21 but that just might be because it was my first crk
I just got a plain large Inkosi, I’ve got regular Sebenza from 2006. The S45VN is a lot better than the S30V
I really want an inkosi

Should’ve finished the video before I commented 😂
Thanks. I’m excited to try magnacut if my knife ever ships.
@@ScotchNThings no magnacut for me yet. But I’m like you. Would love to have one. Can’t wait to see yours
Can you do a koenig arius review for us? Track one down.

Curs tape with a Rockstead-99% of all people who buy high end knives use theirs to cut tape and packages.
Hell I use it all the time. It’s one of my favorite smaller knives.
I have one (lg Inkosi). S45VN is the t*ts.
