- The original CRISS CROSS wreath making method. This EASY Zig Zag Wreath Technique | DIY Poof Wreath | Wreaths for Beginners | Deco Mesh Wreath Tutorial
This video shows how to make a poof wreath base using the zig zag or crisis cross wreath technique. With other methods, you have a partial roll of deco mesh leftover. This method uses a whole roll of 21" mesh so you don't have to worry about storing partial rolls of mesh. #wreaths #wreathmaking #wreathdiy #wreath #wreathtutorial #wreathdesign #wreathmaker #wreathcrafts

I am a newbie at this, and after watching other tutorials, I must say that they pale in comparison to your tutorial. I love your detailed instructions, all the way to the place mat and twist tie on the back. I am making a wreath today using your method. Thank you very much for a job well done!
TOTALLY AGREE your tutorials are AMAZING FINALLY after wasting soooo much time and MONEY and expensive materials 😱
I agree
I absolutely love this. I'm going to try and make this today. Thanks for the great lesson.💖
Very good tutorial. You explained things slow enough to learn this technique. Love the overhead camera to watch as you go. Beautiful wreath.
I have watched a lot of tutorials on making wreaths but your tutorial is by far the best I have seen. I like the way you held things up when you were showing how to do things. Seeing it up close really makes it easy to understand. I watched your tutorial on making the wreaths from the DT Boo hats and they are gorgeous. Keep the videos coming.
I must say, Lucy W. McMellan took the words right out of my mouth! I love your instructions! I too am a newbie at this and no other video I watched gave clearer instructions as yours. Thank you also letting me know that I can use fabric mesh as well. Thank you for a job well done. I feel so confident now.
Much better video. Slow and to the point. Thank you! I’m a beginner and learning a lot from you thank you again.
I have watched many videos on how to make these wreaths, however yours is far above the best one. You explain everything so well Thank you Irene
thank you so much
Very nice tutorial. I love how full this makes the wreath. I also never thought about round place mats to finish of a wreath. That's a wonderful idea. Thank you for taking the time to share this technique.
Yeah! I just learned a new technique to attach deco mesh! Your video was sooo easy to follow! TFS!
MELANIE BRADLEY I
ABSOLUTLEY BEST TUTORIAL IVE EVER STUDIED! YOUR SO EASY TO UNDERSTAND, YOU DONT MIND TO REPEAT A DIRECTION, YOUR INSTRUCTIONS ARE SO EASY AND RIGHT ON!!! BEST TUTORIAL EVER! THANK YOU!
Love how deliberate you are with your explanation. You show all the details, which many tutorials do not. For instance the use of the zip tie. Also, I didn’t even know there are different types of mesh. Thanks
This tutorial is fantastic. You made it so easy to understand and could clearly see what you were doing. Thank you so much! Please keep the tutorials coming!!!
Great job with the tutorial explaining how to do things,, easy to understand..Also I like watching the video this way..easier to see what your doing...The wreath is pretty too, keep up the good work :)
One of the best videos, you showed everything right up to the camera. That was great. So perfect. Very enjoyable to watch..
Your directions and explanations are at a very good pace for us to follow you! The video is also a great help! Thank you SO much for this tutorial😊👍
Thank you so much! I follow Hard Working Mom and Kat's Creations and neither show how to make the work form and I don't really have access to them where I live so I SUPER appreciate you showing how to do it. I've tried several different tutorials on how to make them and yours is the ONLY one that the wreath turns out the way it should :)
I agree!
Just learning myself. I found your instructions clear, concise and easy to keep up with. Thank you!
I like the way you have the camera above so that way we can see every step clearly .
thanks for this video. i too like the overhead, its really better. u make it so clear thanks for your time hi from ky
The first ten minutes alone were eye-opening ; thanks so much!
I'm a newbie also. Your tutorial is very detailed and that is very much appreciated. I so look forward to more videos. Thank you
I have watched so many videos about how to make this wreath and this one is the best by far! I love your step by step simple instructions. Thank you so much!!
Best tutorial I’ve seen. Love the way you’re so thorough and your end product has a polished finish!
I agree, this is the best demonstration I have ever viewed, now I think I can make a nice mesh wreath
I too am kind new at this. I have done a few wreaths, but I am so glad Carmen mentioned you. Thank you for the patience you use doing this tutorial. I think people learn so much better then when you gloss over stuff and assume you should know these things. Your voice on here is a nice tone and listenable . You might think that is silly but really not being mean you start on some video's and by the first few min you have to click off because you can't take it. lol. In any case I have not tried this method yet but I am gone to , and have confidence because I had a great teacher, YOU! Thanks so much. Keep them coming.
Watching your video helped me so much. I have done every other method with mesh except this one, I dreaded it thinking it would be harder but it’s actually easier and no cutting a million different pieces lol thank you so much for doing step by step. Your a great teacher!
This is the BEST EVER demonstration!!!!!!!!
Love this idea, will have to make a new wreath using the zigzag method. Thank you for showing us how to do it. It is so full & pretty... Also love the fabric mesh, never worked with it but will now.
Excellent tutorial!! I LOVE the Zig Zag method! It makes it so full. Thank you so much for sharing. This is how I will do my next pouf wreath.
Looks awesome... that's a good idea going back and forth with the mesh, I honestly don't think you need anything to cover the back no one sees it when it's hanging up anyway. Thanks for the video good luck with your new business.
Absolutely excellent tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing!
That was the BEST wreath tutorial I’ve seen so far .. That was Great 👏🏽👌🏾
Thank you! This was all lesson and no babble, i so appreciate the lesson.
Thank you. You are the only one to show how and where to put the pipe cleaners. Again thanks for your beautiful work 😇
Can't wait to make one!! Great directions!!
Really enjoyed learning this technique from you! Thank you!
Thank you so so much for taking the time to show step by step from beginning! I am new to this n I am attempting today to make a Christmas wreath. I wasn't sure where to place my stems. Thank you thank you!!!!

Awesome tutorial Melissa....thank you for sharing your tips and tricks.
I have not used this method before...very nicely explained and doing the zig zag really fills in nicely
EXCELLENT instruction!!! I am inspired to make one now!! Your technique has given me inspiration. I have been somewhat intimidated by this process--you have made it possible for me to "take the plunge"! Thank you!
Ok, I discovered I purchased a 3-ring wreath and not 4. Can I still use this and how do I place the chenille stems, otherwise, I will return. Thank you!
Enjoyed your video. Answered questions I had about making it full.
I love you technique, great job explaining❤️
Excellent Video Melissa!!
Thanks for the lesson. Getting ready to do my first Wreath. It was very very helpful
Excellent tutorial! TFS!
Learned so much and a new technique. Thank yoy.
Very cool! Great tutorial! Your a great teacher! I like the top about the fabric mesh as opposed to the deco mech. I prefer the fabric as well.
I like that and I think I might be able to do it! Your directions are good! Thanks

Love this video!! Thanks so much for a very clear and easy to understand tutorial! Would you pace the chenille stems the same way on a 12 inch frame?
I love it
Muito lindo seus trabalhos. Moro no Brasil e aqui não encontrei essa base de arame e nem essas fitas lindas. Parabéns! 😘
Finally a proper tutorial on a mesh ribbon wreath, some of these ladies on here are basically on here just for views and don't really teach a thing, I am so glad for your video I had bought mesh ribbon on clearance last year for Halloween and wanted to make a wreath, needless to say I couldn't find a proper video until I came upon yours, thank you so very much!
this is awesome, I am going to make a wreath like yours
Lovely
Awesome! I watch the other live video where you hot glue the piper cleaners...by doing the pipe cleans on two bars instead of one. Do you still need to hot glue the pc or not. Thanks in advance Charo763
Maybe it was just me but did you share how many yards of the 21" Deco Mesh you used? Love the time and consideration you take in this video. Thank You
If I wanted to add a second color on the base, would the point where you started doing the zig zag be a good starting point to add the second color?
Exelente,,,,thank you,,😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Do u use the same measurement/placement for different sizes of wreath forms?
I understand the 21 inch wide but how long was the mesh? I have noticed that all meshes are not the same length.
Do you leave the stems sticking out like that? You use them as part of the decoration?
Do u add anything on the back to hang it up.
Can you show how to do it with 2 colors I like the way yours turned out I have make one with 2 colors
Do you use every chenille stem when doing zigzag?
where did you get your supplies for the san francisco wreath
I wonder how well this method works with the poly deco mesh. Any thoughts?? Thanks for sharing.
hello would i use the same area and same amount of pipe cleaners you put the pipe cleaners on a larger frame ?
I have a love hate relationship with deco!
Great tutorial! I was able to follow along and I have watched a couple of videos and your's was by far the best. I'm making one for my bff. Where is the video that shows how you embellished it?
I was able to make this wreath for my bff, thanks to detailed, step by step instructions. Thanks. I wish I could share a pic of it.
How would you apply the back covering???
Would love to see how you finish this
Me again you can use any 21 in mesh correct?
I am new at making wreaths and your tutorial is very easy to follow because you explain with such detail. I can not wait to complete my first wreath. Thank you for sharing. Where can I find the video with you putting the ribbons and other embellishments on the wreath?
HayLo Creative Designs thank you for your response. After I asked the question, I scrolled down to see if anyone else had the same question and a viewer by the name of Charelle Williams asked about applying embellishments and the link is there showing what I was looking for. Just in case someone else has the same question you can copy and paste the link from the response you gave to her about a year ago. Again, I love your tutorials. Thanks for the response and for sharing your awesome videos. #fanforlife
Do you not cut the pipe cleaners on the top??
How many rolls of 21 inch mesh for one wreath?
Where did you get the mesh?
.
Beautiful. Thanks for the tutorial. U make it look very easy. I tried a long tine ago n they made it confusing to where u put it n the closet. u n 2 more. instructor make it look easy. thank u
Can I do this method with 10 inch fabric
Could you do this with a Dollar Tree Cross Frame?
What size were Creek is that
I really love this technique because it lets you use 21" mesh. Great tutorial, and I also love your placemat idea. Did you get them at DT? Thank you for sharing and teaching!
Where do you get the fabric mesh, also how much is it pls?
Hi! Love the fullness of this wreath! Thanks for the tut! How much of the mesh roll did you use, 1/2 , 3/4?
I have half of a roll of the 21" and was wondering if that would do it on a 12" frame
Thank you
