I brew mine with almond milk directly without adding water, it has a richer and deeper flavour and taste.
Yes this is a good idea! I always make the paste first to make sure everything is mixed in but I will try this out as well!
@@Nioteas doesn't this affect the matcha? I remember hearing about how it needs water for its health benefits.
@@user-fy9xl9eu8c this is only an issue with dairy. The casein protein in cows milk binds to the polyphenols in matcha and alters bioavailability and blocks antioxidant absorption. This doesn't happen with plant based milks.
@@Nioteas I put my plant milk and maple syrup in a protein shaker bottle and sift in my matcha and shake the heck out of it and never deal with clumps and it’s so rich and yummy. Especially if I use oat milk, the rich and creamy taste is so good.
@@munchems thanks for answering! I'm God awful at science so I appreciate a proper explanation.
I don’t use measurement I just use feelings
How does it taste
@@VedicAstrologywithYashi better than measurements they told
this is *d* *e* *e* *p*
these are the measurements that satisfy my liking when I make matcha💚:
-2 teaspoons of matcha powder
-60ml hot water (not boiling)
-2 & 1/2 teaspoons of sugar (or honey but I use brown sugar)
-160ml milk (any milk should be fine but I always use whole milk as that’s what’s available at home all the time)
-and lastly ice!
How I make it?:
Step 1: add 2 teaspoons of matcha powder into 60ml hot water
Step 2: add 2 & 1/2 teaspoons of sugar/honey into 60ml hot water
Step 3: Use a frother to combine all the ingredients (very important: make sure that all the matcha powder is fully dissolved!)
Step 4: add ice to your cup
Step 5: add 160ml milk
(Optional) Step 6: add 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence! (this is a whole game changer for me! It enhances the taste so much!)
I worked a barista job and this lady came in twice, on consecutive days, ordered a matcha both times and said this is the most disgusting thing I ever drank twice to me again on both days
like I said, it's an acquired taste! Maybe shell come back a third time and like it
That ladys on crack bc matcha is delicious
I mean she came back a second time 🤣🤣🤣
😮😂😂😂
hahah measurement is important for me.
one time i used a heapful of teaspoon (technically more than the bamboo spoon) of matcha powder for my matcha latte after dinner, i didn't sleep from sunset to sunrise.
the alertness didn't hit me hard like how coffee would ; matcha's effect of keeping me awake is like calm and steady waves. i couldn't panic even if i wanted too lmao
it was an experience. 😂
😂😂 amazing story lol
Yes exactly! We have a video about this coming out soon. It's a much smoother energy but it still prevents you from sleeping
oh, so that's why i can't sleep early since i started drinking matcha in the afternoon. i had suspicions it's becos of the matcha but just confirmed now with ur comment. gotta read more about matcha now. haha but good thing is i don't feel too groggy, unlike when i sleep late on a matcha-less day.
Now you make me want to try the real one
i did that the other day with a matcha latte because i forgot it had caffeine, but you’re right, it wasn’t an anxious sleeplessness like coffee
Note to people who drink matcha, do not use metal to scoop it or mix it. Use wood or bamboo, the taste will change when it touches metal.
how does it alter the taste? i’ve always used my metal spoon..
yes this is true, we have the metal spoon in some of our shots but mostly we use the chashaku
@@AznWari it oxidizes the tea altering the taste and also can suppress the medicinal effects due to the ions of the metal binding to catechins
That's so interesting. I bet a lot of ppl did not know this fact. Thanks for sharing.
They probably use a metal blender to grind it in the factory
I use 2 tsp because over time I got used to it and didn't enjoy it unless it was super concentrated!
What is this ?
Same!
I usually snort 2-3 grams as a starter
definitely don't do that!
@@Nioteas I’m just kidding 😂
thanks for watching anyways
My kinda guy 😌🤣🤣💀 ya knoo just a lil pregame
Is it room temperature water / oat milk? I'm guessing warm but I don't see any steam so I don't want to assume. Thanks!!
I heated it up in a pan to make a warm latte, otherwise you can use refrigerated oat milk for cold lattes
You're supposed to brew it at like 176 ish degrees Fahrenheit, I'm sorry I don't know what that would be Celsius. That's below boiling point(220°F ish) so the steam would be too faint to pick up on camera and I think you can do a lower temp but higher will scald it and gives a bitter taste
@@Nioteas Will matcha dissolve in cold liquid? Or do you have to heat then cool it?
@@himesilvaIt will dissolve at colder temps. You may have to whisk a bit harder though. Because Matcha is powder, it is VERY susceptible to over brewing, so you don’t want hot water at all, just warm. I have heard some tea masters even swear by using room temp water, but I have no proof of this.
Matcha is so good!!
I used to mix matcha and sugar dry into a small jar, then ad a splash of hot water to make into a thick paste, then ad more water so I could shake until foamy, and pour over iced oat milk to make it into a latte. Easy and delicious 😌

I’ve learned recently that I’ve been making my matcha drinks wrong. I’d just dump it directly into my milk or hot water.😵💫
this might be okay, the only problem I could see is that you would get the clumps in the latte. Thats why the sifting and the paste step are important
I make mine in a milk frother. Add water, or milk, and dump matcha in. Cover. Press start, and voila. No manual labor 🙂
that is ok if you doing it with cheap matcha. Because it wont matter what temperature or step you do. Because it wont effect the taste. But with ceremonial matcha. Yeah preparing the right way is important. The temperature play a big role as well as whisk.
@@slyztercoreveanged3175 No I had cheaper matcha. Mine would always end up grainy and not very foamy

If the recommended dose of l-theanine is 100-200mg per day to get the all the benefits, how much matcha should we drink to get the most effect out of l-theanine ?
1g of premium/ceremonial grade matcha contains around 19.5mg of L-theanine and also 34mg of caffeine. 6g of matcha would get you the recommended dose of L-theanine which is around 117mg but be aware that you'll be taking over 200mg of caffeine as well. My recommendation is to start at 4g and see how it goes for you after that.

Hey Azure! I was Catholic, but after reading the Bible again and comparing it to what I had been taught from the church, it didn't make sense to me anymore. So I just converted into Mormon, and I believe in it. It's not that sad actually, because after giving up caffeine (from coffee and tea, and basically from any other sources.)
