- Thanks for checking out our brand new 2022 Arctic Fox 1150 Truck Camper! We will show you all of the features it has to offer and give you a tour of the rig. Shortly after purchasing the truck camper we decided to do a custom wrap for it as well. There may be a separate video on the wrap and the modifications we do to it in the near future.
We are very impressed with how insulated the camper is, especially with the thickness of the roof! The 20k BTU furnace helps it heat up quick in the cold and the insulation helps it maintain the temperature.
Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching!

Looking to save money on gas, whether doing short commutes to work or traveling across the country? Check out the app GetUpside! Use Promo Code 5V395 to get an additional 15 cents off per gallon when you fill up! We save an average of 25-40 cents off per gallon during our travels, and it adds up quickly!
We love using Lectric Bikes during our travels since they are easy to fold up and transport. They are also, in our opinion, the best priced E-Bike on the market! Here’s a link to check them out:

Since we need lots of power for our gear, we use a Jackery 1000 paired with 2 - 100 Watt solar panels! It runs everything from a small phone to camera gear, a magic bullet and even a small space heater! They have many sizes of units to choose from depending on how much power you need. www.jackery.com?aff=448

The ability to use the remote for the awning and slide-out is awesome! Wish I had that on my 990. Camper looks amazing though, congrats!
It's definitely a nice feature! Thank you! :)
Nice decent sized dry bath! 👏 😁 🤙
If I were to ever get a camper truck, that is the model I would get. I know there is a sleeve you can get to keep that back window from your truck open to the camper so in sketchy areas you never have to leave your truck to enter the rig. And that is what I would do for safely.
Pretty impressive for a truck camper! Seems very spacious!
This is awesome! So much storage, great huge windows, big tanks, just really a great model! Can’t wait to follow your adventures!
Thanks Margie! :)
very nice camper, excellent tour ty
Thanks for watching!
enjoy it together in good health, great video!
Thank you!
Looks like a great new home for you two plenty of space and comfortable.
Thanks! We are pretty excited about it :)
That's a really nice rig. Looking forward to the modifications and travels.
Thank you!
Congrats on your new Arctic Fox. I'm looking forward to an upgrade in a couple of years myself. Thanks for sharing, love see inside other folks camper.
Thank you! Are you planning to go with an Arctic fox as well? Researched a lot and saw best reviews with NorthernLite and Arctic Fox for truck campers.
@@InfiniteExplorers I'm looking at the Arctic Fox and the Lance. I've had a lance for many years now, and I really like the build quality of them. If not a Lance, then definitely an Arctic Fox, I really love the four season package on them.
@@DispersedCamperMan Great choices!
@@DispersedCamperMan DCM: From what I've heard/read on the forums and some of the chatrooms, the Lance campers built since 2018 do not have the same level of quality they did before REV corporation took over the ownership. If you go with a Lance, ensure you do a very nitty-gritty look over to ensure everything meets your standards. I've found, when shopping for anything used, to take a strong LED flashlight and use it to see where I can find the defects. Everything built these days has defects, but finding out the obvious ones will help you find the model of camper which should work well. Good luck on your hunt. I'm already doing my preliminary hunting for my next camper.
I am so looking forward to upgrading to the 1150. My wife and I are using a truck camper i found in grove on a abandoned farm in minnesota. We restored the camper but its a 1969 ozark. It work for the summer. We're looking into retirement and want to travel, your video sparked the camper interest even more. I also want tow my show car in a 24 foot enclosed along with. Two vehicles a house and garage all in one package. Well thats the plan for now at least. Very good video !!!
Awesome! You'll love it :) We've been very happy with it for the 64 days we've used it so far!
My experience is to plan for retirement by exploring all your options, then buy your camper (new or used) and learn to camp in it. Do as much as you can while you are still employed since once you retire the money to make adjustments won't always be there. In addition, you never know when somebody will get sick which will blow your plans away. (My wife and I planned to travel all over but 8 months after I retired, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, which meant we were not travelling anywhere for a few years. She survived it and we started to travel again, then I got sick, got better and she had a second dose of cancer. She is still alive but our travelling has been limited due to COVID and other issues.) Enjoy yourselves and have fun; you never know what the future will bring.
congratulations!! amazing new
camper 👍👍
Thank you!
Really good video good job on highlighting on everything that has I have a 2007 Lance 951 overall layout is identical
Congratulations! Super interested in learning more about payload etc. Looks absolutely awesome!
Thank you! We will probably post an updated video once we've been on the road for a while with it. We are also working on a few small modification things that we will share as well :)
We just ordered a 2022 Lance 1172 it will be ready next spring. Traded our 2008 Lance 992 in on it at the dealer. Personally I prefer slide outs for the roominess and comfort and I like the layout of the 1172. We picked our colours and options including a tankless water heater, lithium batteries, 2500W generator, 2 solar panels, micro wave, propane stove and oven, outside propane line for BBQ and a LTE/wifi cell signal booster and antenna. Also roof racks and a power awning with wind sensor and lights. Comes with twin 7 gallon propane tanks.
Good luck with the new camper she looks great
Awesome, congrats on ordering the new camper! We love having 1 slide :) Hope you have a great time with yours when you pick it up!
The only thing about slideouts is if you camp off forest service roads that are potholes and uneven you can damage to slide and tracks. Once this happens the slides start sticking and the Fram of the camper can become stressed.
Excellent job!
Just to add great overview and love the camper
Thank you!
Looks very nice. I have a 2005 Northern Lite, it's been great. Looked hard at the AF truck campers before finding a deal :)
Very happy with our 2022 AF1150! :) We did a few small modifications to it shown in other videos.
Nice overhead bed fan. Love fantastic fans.
I love it. Congrats you two.
Thanks Bryan!
Looks really awesome y'all! ~ Shion and Matthew
Thank you!!
I truly love this entire set up but your truck will always be right on the edge of being maxed out with weight. Just gorgeous
Very nice, your one year review is fine. Keep posting every year on how it all holds up. Did you buy an extra warranty for all the camper items that could break down? How much was it?
Thank you! We did not purchase the extended warranty... I think it was around $2500 or so for 5 years but that didn't cover appliances so we figured we would save that money and hope for the best.
Seems to be a very nice rig glad you are enjoying the Artic Fox. I’m not into brown brown brown.. but to each his own.
We are loving it :) there wasn't much for options for interior choices but we cared more about the quality vs looks. Thanks for watching!
Quality matters... 🙂 owner of a Northwoods manufacturing Nash. Built like a tank... and I can live with the brown, because the money is used in the build. Enjoy your new camper....
@@chrisruef3201 Agreed - thanks!
Very nice video! How much was your camper?
Thank you! 40k
Great tutorial guys!
Thank you!
i really don't care for slides, but that is a really good looking camper. love the dry bath. yup really nice unit. i am guessing you need the dually to haul that camper.
Thanks, we love it! Yep, dually is a must
Wow Nice and congratulations. I believe the cost for this camper is like 36k
I've seen some for close to 60k..😮😮
Looks awesome. There was one camped next to us this week and I was curious about them.
Thank you! The layouts can be similar but each brand can have a lot of different personal touches to it :)
Not too many dry baths in a truck camper.
We weren't sure if we would like it since the shower took up a bit of space but we actually love it!
It's nice God bless it and God bless your.
Hi , Really nice unit, I would like to know where you bought it? Is there a waiting list or they have units on site? And finally how much is it ball park?
Hi! Reach out to Niemeyers Trailer Sales in Albertville, MN. They can hook you up with the best price. I'm not sure if they have one in stock - sometimes they do
Nice review and camper. Certainly a nice upgrade from the last one... Any indication on pricing for this unit...? Have fun in your next adventures 😉👍
Thank you! We were able to get it just over 40k. Sounds like the next batch produced is going to be between 50-60k so glad we got it when we did!
@@InfiniteExplorers nice and good deal.. And this is without the truck of course... 😉
How much?
Hey guys great video.
How tall is the camper when it is in the back of your truck??
Thank you! It's about 12ft 8"
I was wondering they say a camper is 4 seasons... so the question is how good is this camper in real winter cold or real hot summer. can you feed back about that some, Im looking at a 820 cirrus camper ... I wonder if one is warmer in the winter ... can you trust the spec's...
I love your dry shower and bathroom and the full oven... also in the future if you can talk about the truck and how it handles the camper and gas millage please... I really like your camper. also what is the weight of that camper... thanks
Hey fred! With us and everything loaded our total weight is just under 15,000gvw. We havent camped in it in anything under 27 degrees, but even at that temp it's handled really well! We are in a facebook group and some canadians stay in theirs when its -25f no problem with a few slight mods.
We average about 11-12mpg with our setup.
Very nice truck camper. What's the price tag.
I'm sure you get asked this a lot but how the heck can you buy a rig like that at your age? Pretty impressive (not to mention the fuel costs)
Great video nice camper what is the interior height of this camper and the interior height of the skylight in the shower good luck with your new camper
Hey Robert! Thanks! Interior height is 6ft 7", not sure about the skylight in the shower but guessing 6ft 5". Matt is about 6ft tall and the top of his head just barely starts going into the skylight when he stands in it.
@@InfiniteExplorers Thank you for your feedback I’m really looking for a High profile fifth wheel being 6 foot eight it’s a bit challenging truck campers most likely is not an option for me
Would be nice to see how much walking space when the slide is in. Is the cab window just to look through or access to the truck?
Its just to look through. I'll have to measure it when the slide is in but I'm guessing around 12-15"
Congratulations! A couple of questions. Can you get into the camper with the slide-out in? Can you look through that bottom window in the door with the slide-out in? Thanks. Happy travels!
Great questions! Yes, you can get in the camper with the slide out in. We actually plan to leave the slide out in unless we are stopping at a spot for multiple days. The slide out covers about half of that bottom window on the door - so you can see out the other half of it with your rear view mirror when driving. The windows are tinted so it's harder to see inside vs looking outside when inside the camper. Hope this helps!
And how much $$ was that monster?.. must have been a lot since you opt’d out for a few things, generator, tv, more solar, etc.
best of luck on your new adventures. 🤔
Big Unit , can you access the bath and kitchen , when the slide is in ? ~peace~
Yes, thanks!
We’re you able to order this without the Arctic Fox graphics or did you have to strip them to do your wrap?
We stripped the graphics ourselves. They were easy to remove since they were fresh from being a new camper
Please post your loaded weights (both gross and axle) when you are loaded. I'm very interested in this model camper but would like to know for sure what how much it actually weighs before I commit to buying one.
Thanks, Randy
Hey Randy! Loaded front axle: 5880, rear axle 9230. Total is 15,110. Hope this helps!
Thanks, that what I was looking for.
I forgot to ask you how it drives and rides. Does it feel overloaded?
@@randyprince9913 it rides very well! The dually makes it feel very stable. Doesnt feel overloaded
Ok, you talked me into it!!
Sold our 36' DP motorhome and bought a Ram 3500 and Artic Fox 1150 truck camper. Only had it for about a month but looking forward to doing some traveling more off the beaten path.
Thanks for your feedback and reviews.
No one posts msrp on these campers
does your truck still have a stock suspension ? How's it handle that camper ?
We added Timbrens to it - it works fantastic with the Timbrens :) Stock worked well but on bumpy areas or potholes it wasn't as good. Here's the video about our suspension czcams.com/video/y6x_LRDuMJE/video.html
@@InfiniteExplorers TY sir. Great Rig
When you ordered the camper what was the total dry weight? (Their website is confusing.)
And what is your trucks payload?
The back of the camper days 3750lbs I believe. Truck max payload is 5280lbs. We are a few hundred pounds below max
We have this exact model, I’m really pissed at myself for not knowing the remote opens the awning and slide. I’m going outside in the morning and try it. K
It's definitely nice to use :)
:) We learn new things all the time. Have fun. I'm looking to upgrade from my current Lance 915 to a newer model with a dry bath and large porch. I like the steps on this unit which will work so much better than the one on my 915.
What's the size of the generator door? Wondering what size portable I could put in it. Thanks!
We can try and get a measurement for it tomorrow - otherwise it can fit a Honda 2000Watt Generator or a Predator 2000 watt generator. I dont think it will fit a 3500 watt. Hope this helps!
@@InfiniteExplorers Thanks, I have a Champion 2500 Watt Inverter dual fuel. Would be slick if it would fit and if I could connect to the LP line inside the compartment.
@@richardkoch8752 Just googled the dimensions of your unit and it should definitely fit :) You might not have room for much else in the area but it will fit.
what price did you get on it?
I want one ,how much $$$ 😊… nice unit
Hi the rear stairs when it is folded up is it locked in place and does it rattle going down the road and the bathroom shower that water leaks out is the shower curtain inside or outside the shower
Hi! The fox landing does ot rattle at all. The shower curtain that comes with the camper is above a trim piece...so it leans under it. We put a list of accessories we bought for the camper in the comments. The shower curtain we got is inside the shower and it no longer leaks.
@@InfiniteExplorers thanks for the information
Hi my name is Dan I am ordering an AF 1150 was your custom wrap done before or after delivery of your AF1150
Hey Dan, thanks for reaching out! We designed the wrap ourselves (there's another video about that on our channel) and had a local person install the wrap about 2 weeks after we picked the camper up. We had to take the original decals off but that wasnt too bad since they were fresh and hadn't baked in the sun. Hope this helps!
@@InfiniteExplorers Thanks that help a lot. My new AF 1150 is do in July and I was sold on the dry bath. I liked the Northern Lite but they changed there dry bath after 2017 model. It no longer look like a real dry bath. I love your videos keep up the good work.
@@danhall9069 awesome, you'll love it! Feel free to check out our modifications video to see a few changes we made with ours. We also got a shower curtain for the shower vs using the sliding door that came with it.
@@InfiniteExplorers Why did you stop using the sliding door?
@@Harry-zz2oh water would leak out the bottom of it onto the floor since theres no lip to keep the water in the shower. We siliconed the gap but that only lasted so long. The shower curtain makes it much better now. Plus people have had mold issues with water staying on the door as it opens back up
Does you awning have a wind sensor and does it automatically draw in if it’s windy?
It does not
@@InfiniteExplorers thanks…. It is a nice rig that you have!
❤❤❤❤❤😊
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙂🙂
How much does a camper like thus cost?
What’s your mpg on your RAM with the camper?
We get about 11.5-12.5mpg with this rig.
@@InfiniteExplorers Thank you for the quick response
Can you share why you went with the Arctic Fox vs a Lance or Host truck camper which have more slides and more room...I am also looking to buy my first truck camper next year and would love to hear your comments on your process which led you to Arctic Fox
Hi Bill, for sure! We did a lot of research on truck campers and found that Northern Lite and Arctic Fox had the best reviews for the newest truck campers. Both brands are also very insulated. We also looked at Host, Eagle Cap, and Lance. Lance didn't seem to have as good of quality on the newer campers vs 5-10 years ago. People we've talked with on the road that have owned Lance as well told us that their quality went down after 2008-2009. Host campers looked like a great option as well, but we didn't want multiple slides since more slides = more possible issues. Host was also quite a bit more expensive vs Arctic Fox. We are in truck camper groups on Facebook and noticed a lot of quality control issues with Host and Eagle Cap in the last year. We like being able to go inside the truck camper with the slide closed as well. Many of the truck campers with multiple slides don't allow access without opening at least 1 slide. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions :)
@@InfiniteExplorers I can speak to the Lance quality issues from my experience and what I understand, I bought a new Lance in 2007 and was nothing but quality. I bought another new Lance in 2020 and thought it would be the same quality but not close. I had to fix so many things myself, or there are just things I have to live with now. I really wish I had known before I made the 2000 mile trip to pick it up. Rev Group bought Lance in 2018 and since they have all but ruined Lance by trying to reduce costs with cheap material, using cheap un-skilled labor and cutting corners everywhere. Soo, good choice with the camper!
The fan over the stove has a locking vent inside of the Camper; located inside of the filter, and another on the outside. [It is inside of the outside vent.] For the vent to function, both have to be unlocked.
Remember... That if you take the Camper off the Truck, you may want to use those wide pads under all of the the jack feet. If it rains and becomes muddy, one or more of the legs could loose its footing.
Remember to always shut off both of the hot and cold water on the Outside Shower. Otherwise it will mix the hot and cold water, and you will never get really hot water on the inside. [You can take about a 6 Min Hot Shower, with the 6 Gal H2O Heater.]
You may want to check out Taylor Dzaman CZcams channel [2+ Yrs full-time in an Arctic Fox Truck Camper.]
@@p.robertbranconi4127 thanks for the tips!
@@RT-fy7gt That is what I've heard too. I have an '08 Lance 915 but I need to upgrade some so we have a dry bath and more room since we plan to take our two Corgis with us on trips. This video shows the advantages of the Artic Fox, which is impressive.
How much is this one?
Depends on where you get them in the country :) 40-58k is what they are going for currently
is this a 6' box or a 8'
8 ft
That baby is nice but too heavy for my rig
Why get a slide out if your not going to use it?
We are going to use it :) We don't need to use it every day though if we are only stopping for 1 night. We spend most of our time outside anyways. Slide works great for us when we stop for multiple days in 1 spot
What is the weight of this camper loaded ?
A little less than 5400 lbs
Hello, If you can provide me the design and buit details of this Champer, I will be greatful to you
I can't buy this as I am from India and if I import this from USA it will cost me huge in price, so it would be better if I can get it built with same equipment and design in India itself for cost effective solution. If you want to charge for this service please let me know we can discuss on that too
Waiting for your response
What are dimensions of batteries ?
Not 100% sure - will have to check on that. They are 2 marine interstate batteries.
