    "I want to clarify that when Magraheb said that the government didn't provide an alternative route, it wasn't accurate. There are other routes available for cars to use over the railway, but the driver chose to take a shortcut instead of the designated route.
    Unfortunately, many Ghanaians tend to disregard the law when it comes to road safety, and they only follow the rules when they travel abroad. It's not fair to blame the government for the reckless behavior of some drivers, especially when they choose to take unauthorized routes.
    We need to take responsibility for our actions and stop blaming government institutions for everything that goes wrong."

      Some Ghanaian should stop the stupidity. There no way that truck should go over that railway. The tracks have been made that way so that cars will not try to cross that is why it is so high. This is for fast trains, so crossings are either overhead or underground so that the train will not have any impediment in its operation. Some of us especially the truck driver are so stupid that that you cannot know how they think. If you listen to some of speeches of the engineers they already did inspections before this test run of the train, so it is sheer stupid ignorance or complete sabotage. How come this incident happened on the very first test run when a whole lot of people had been waiting and taking pictures of this test in some areas of the tracks. Also at Ningo Prampram some people had put some blocks on the tracks, so think these and draw your own conclusions. Oow Ghana our motherland, when are we going to learn sense to know that development is for everyone and not for some few people. 😢😢😢😢

  • @ObiTV-Sales
    @ObiTV-Sales Před 13 dny +9

    Despite the unfortunate incident caused by the driver, it's evident that including stopping distance tests in the planning process could enhance safety protocols for train operations. Watching the video, it's clear the driver only attempted to alert with the horn 12 seconds prior to the collision, without attempting to brake until impact, and fully stopping 12 seconds later.
    A crucial lesson is for train operators to proactively reduce speeds upon identifying risks rather than solely relying on horn signals. Implementing a minimum stopping distance of 10 seconds, considering relative speeds, is essential. Additionally, measures to restrict track access for both humans and animals are imperative.
    Maintaining a comprehensive record of near misses can provide valuable insights for refining safety policies and procedures moving forward.

    Massa, People started developing the area when they realized the railway was being built.
    Because they are seeing business opportunities. There is no road crossing the line. Why would he even pass there? It doesn't make any sense. And please those saying the train should have stopped, it is not like a car that you can brake anyhow.
    I ply the road frequently to my home town so I know what I am talking about.
    In places where there are roads crossing the railway, there is an over bridge. You can go and check.
    Maybe, now that people are developing the area, there should be some form of sensitization on the "dos" and don't around the areas closer to the rail.
    My take.

    We don’t take things seriously most of the times. Every driver of a vehicle knows the clearance for the vehicle and can easily gauge whether the vehicle can pass through a certain place of not. Railways are never a place to play around because of the stopping distance for trains.
    There needs to be heavy fines or punitive measures for articulator trucks/18-wheelers which breaks down at construction sites where one road is open for alll vehicles. If you have moved through a construction zones, you have seen these broken down articulators sitting there with almost two loads. Why doesn’t these vehicles check for road worthiness before leaving to travel on a road?
    I suggest hefty fines for these owners and I bet they’ll keep the vehicle serviced before putting them on the road. These vehicles do not have orange caution cones to warn oncoming vehicles that there is a broken down vehicle

Over here, where there's no other route for cars to move, they put a red light there with alarm, 10 minutes before the train gets to that route, the alarm will start blowing for all to know a train is on its way. All cars will stop untill they see the train pass.

  • @emikinc
    @emikinc Před 12 dny

    Almost everybody here is trying to blame the government but any person who has carefully followed this issue can correctly conclude that this was totally the fault of the driver.
    All the inspections were done before the test run but this irresponsible driver decided not to use the under bridge alternate route with the claim that his vehicle could not go under the bridge. Meanwhile there was a sign that gave the height limit for vehicles. Consequently the driver should not have used that path at all per the height limit for him to face that challenge of going under the bridge and thereby forcing him to choose the option of driving over the rail line and eventually get stack for the train to get there in less than 10 minutes. How on earth could the inspectors have known that a KIA truck was stack on the rail line less than 10 minutes before the train got there in that curve? The driver wanted to take an illegal short cut and got stack on the rail. How do you still blame the government for this last minute irresponsible behaviour of a citizen after all necessary checks have been made?
    Our usual desire to always blame sitting governments for every little problame is leading us to become a country of indisciplined and irresponsible people. We just love to break our laws with impunity and then quickly turn around to blame the government for not checking us. Are we becoming so dumb?
    Very soon people will begin to kill their mothers, fathers and other family members and then put the blame on the sitting government for not preventing them from killing their own family members.
    Please let's get serious in this country for once

  • @gh_footy7269
    @gh_footy7269 Před 12 dny +1

    Like seriously I really don’t understand the whole scenario, first of all from the video, the train was approaching a curve with a high speed without slowing down and I could hear the horn, secondly, looking at the train cctv time at 12:10:51 just after the train passed the curve I could clearly see the truck from afar about 20-40 metres away judging from the video, so how come the train driver couldn’t see afar as you can see there was something on the rail line. Thirdly, I couldn’t see any sign of emergency stopping as the train was approaching the truck and until it crashed the truck. The train wasn’t even a long train so emergency stopping would have been easier due to the distance away from the truck. Also It seems to me that the truck was perfectly parked on the rail line. Who parks a truck on a railway?Just judging from the video, I can see something isn’t right about this whole thing🤷🏽‍♂️ and what baffles me is the truck driver is only jailed for 6months aww my country Ghana😢
