  • A comparison of these three de-tuning boxes and how they sound for Bass, with the primary focus on de tuning to play songs in different keys. I call the Mooer “mooger” in the video. Sorry. Here’s some info I don’t cover in the video: Mooer and EH can go up or down. Drop only goes down. EH and Mooer skip some steps whereas Drop does half step all the way to octave. EH and Mooer can blend for harmonies whereas drop only offers blend with octave. EH and Mooer also offer micro-pitch blend for a chorus effect. Drop does not. EH and Drop offer momentary button for pseudo “whammy” effect. EH only one that can take a battery.
I hope this video is useful to all you bass players out there.

The Pitchfork sounds realy artificial. For just drop down use the Digitech sounds the best by far.

Yes, the PF has an "overdrive" tone to it but the Digitech has tracking problems and warble when you go more than 2-3 steps down.

@@jeff-nwaudioguy7595 , i do not realy hear an overdrive tone. What i hear is kind of a very short reverb/chorus like sound, as if there is some kind of doubler effect on it. The Drop sounds much cleaner.

@@Andreorsel I'm just glad you found the video helpful. If you like the drop, that's good. It wasn't the choice for me. I could live with the tone of the PF whereas I could not live with the blops, bloops, and warbles of the drop.

@@jeff-nwaudioguy7595 I assume you selected PF. Have you been using it on gigs, are you happy with it?

@@simonjurecic Yes, I've been using the PF for gigs and it's been working quite well. It saves so many headaches with song key changes. There are no weird warble issues, or tracking issues at all. The "overdrive" tone is fine. You just have to get used to the tiny bit of latency it introduces. In a live context tho, it's fine.

If you need to detune to C then it's time for another singer.

Ah yes, comments from under the rock. Welcome. It's 2024. People play in tunings lower and higher than E standard now. Actually it's been that way since forever so I assume that the rock is a larger dominion of yours and there is in fact another rock within it's surrounds that you stayed under during the invention of different stringed instruments through time.
