Like both the shuffle and the question mark are for different characters and the whole puzzle itself is ment to represent Bill as it was a big thing for Gravity Falls fans and a way for the characters to defeat Bill. It's probably not, but I think it could be a fun little suprise episode reveal that has some amount of forshadowing

Giorno wins? Persona fans are gonna get pissed and bring up how “Joker has resisted stuff similar to GER” or Satanael. Joker wins? JoJo fans are gonna be typing 100 words per minute explaining why GER should’ve beaten Joker.
Simply put, it’d be really interesting to see what the like to dislike ratio would be after the premiere if Susan didn’t remove the dislikes.

Well it is part of Gravity Falls' identity to have hidden codes, ciphers and messages hinting at things so it's only appropriate they do this for the season where Bill Cipher vs. Discord is an episode.

@@elijahhayter3026 It's kind of a weird MU because of the countless upon countless ways you can not only set up Joker in the game but also just trying to integrate not only Joker but the other protagonists from Persona in to a VS battle. Yes Giorno can put Joker in to a death loop but it doesn't mean a whole lot if we consider that you can make Joker resistant to every attribute and attack type in his series (Including instant death attacks/spells, with the only exception being Almighty attacks), same goes for the other protagonists.
I love both series and time will tell how they will go about it whether they make the most OP version of Joker possible or if they use say the Manga or Anime version of Joker which is significantly less BS then game Joker, who knows, but either way im hyped and I love both of them, I will be both sad and happy for whoever takes the W if it does end up being a MU for this season.
@@WeebSenpai2431 Giorno can only put Joker in a Death Loop if he kills him with GER. If Joker simply just puts on a reflect phys persona or uses an ointment Giorno dies. It's not even a fight whatsoever, when Giorno even tries to punch Joker or any Persona Protag he would immediately get reflected. And his punches wouldn't even do any damage to Joker, the games show him tanking some really powerful attacks and moving at speeds faster than light(each turn is equal to a second according to Digital Devil Saga).
Though we know that Death Battle uses the Animated versions of the characters for Persona and not the games and I don't know any of Joker's feats in the animation since I didn't watch it.
@@ribsmeat2333 You're 100% right, but I didn't want to start another war about this MU and be pegged to either Giorno or Joker. In a fight like this where I enjoy both characters and series im just grateful to get this sort of MU if it is happening this season.
I watched like 6 episodes of the P5 anime before dropping just cause I didn't find much enjoyment from it, they don't really go in to Weaknesses and Advantages all that much, it only really shows up in bigger fights like The Reaper, and beyond that a lot of Joker's big feats are never really showcased properly from memory so that's why im holding my breath that they include the game's content. Plus Royal Stuff wasn't around when the anime was made.
@@ribsmeat2333 I think it can be argued that certain attacks from series outside of the SMT franchise would be considered almighty (especially since some skills that look like they're physical are considered to be almighty like Murakumo in SMTV). At that point it would just be about scaling these characters which is a complete clusterfuck due to cosmology shit.

Gotta disagree with the flask being Alex vs Cole as that one fits the Ying Yang symbol and the half filled in circle better as they are characters that start in the grey morally but go separate paths are the end with Cole turning good and Alex evil. For the Flask it might be Bowser vs Eggman giving the spikes surrounding the flask.
Nah man it doesn’t make any sense they are the ying yang at all, I mean the flask literally represents Cole and Alex being bio weapons of mass destructions that got their powers from mad scientist trying to figure out weapons of mass destruction, the blacklight virus and the ray sphere in hopes to create super soldiers which in each universe they ultimately succeeded having D-Codes and Orions in prototype and the Vermakk 88 and DUP in infamous, they are direct products of lab rat tests. It makes all the sense of the world that they are the glass flask vial thing, and for egg man vs bowser I figure egg man shouldn’t be represented by a glass but by gears or a engine since he is all about robots

That's a pretty good guess for the flask that I haven't heard yet. I think many people just think of generic science MUs but this actually gives an explanation for the weird spike ring.

I don't have any clue about the symbols, so I'll just note some things that I thought up or noticed.
1) At the start of the trailer, there's text under the screens that says "IT IS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS"
2) My take for melee + silent would be a sneaky assassin, like Agent 47 (hoping he's not against the Spy)
3) The only thing I can think of for carousel + reflection would be a clown copying another character, but no one comes to mind.
It could be Joker (the clown) vs Green Goblin (the reflection) but it's still a bit of a long shot.

I think "X people out but keep it silent" might be another hint that Monokuma is coming to Death Battle since when someone dies in Danganronpa, they get a memorial picture with an X over their face and the gimmick of the class trial is to not be caught.
I'm willing to bet that the Taijitsu is Cole vs Alex and that the scales could be hinting at The Judge vs Sans.
Also, I'm almost 100% sure that the beaker surrounded by a spiked ball is hinting at Bowser vs Eggman since one is a spiky boy and the other is a scientist.
And since I have online brain damage, I want Captain Planet to fight Orochi from King of Fighters because A) that fight has actually good connections and B) the idea of the strongest KOF character fighting Captain Planet is really funny.

Both are beings called upon by the Goddess of Earth Gaia in order to fight back against the destruction of Earth by humanity with both of them having groups of allies that control the elements with most of those elements being the same (Aside from the Planeteers not having an electricity user and the Orochi Clan not having a water user).

I'm not a fan of the series, but Kingsman has a lot of cool weapons that I could see it being apart of the Suit Symbol. The suits are a big part of that series, and another James Bond or maybe Jason Borne.

For the lotus symbol, you mentioned "white lotus," which is the name of the organization from ATLA. This makes me think that matchup might be Iroh versus someone, either another super chill mentor character or another unassuming badass. I haven't seen seen Amphibia or Owl House (I believe those are the shows those characters are from), so it could connect better.
Iroh vs Eda clawthorn? There’s a weird sigil in the centre, so it could be sigil magic, and they’re both mentors.

It could be a half circle, which is sometimes used as a alchemical symbol for Silver. I'm not sure if Silver is a specific choice, but it could possibly hint at a Full Metal Alchemist matchup. Maybe Alfonz, because he's made of metal? No idea who his opponent would be though, if this were the case

Although this could also be a FMA matchup. The circle and beaker could be a reference to a transmutation circle. Maybe Father vs Father? (Father from FMAB and Father from K.N.D). Maybe one of the 7 sins from FMA vs one of the 7 sins from 7 Deadly Sins?

Some of my guesses:
$ sign: This is probably only because I just finished rewatching Diamond is Unbreakable with my friend, but I could maybe see the dollar sign representing Okuyasu Nijimura for pretty obvious reasons. I don't think he's a particularly requested character, but he does have a couple of match ups and I think he'd make for a really fun episode due ti his stand. Though no opponents which really embody the $ sign as much as Okuyasu.
There's also the matter of multiple JoJo matches in one season being unlikely, and I feel like the other two are *FAR* more likely to appear than Okuyasu. But it's just an idea for what else the dollar sign could be.
Yin and Yang: this could represent Meruem due to his morality being such a key component in his character. Possible opponents include Kars (I swear this was a coincidence), and Carnage (due to his straightforward mentality in comparison).

I know it's unlikely, but I'd love to see doomslayer vs v1, seeing how doomslayer's unmatched strength goes against v1's extremely versatile options
The spiky ring with the beaker could also be Bowser vs Eggman if you see the circle as a spiky ring. Though then again, I’m not sure if a beaker represents eggman well since he’s a mechanic and not a chemist.
Carousel + dark reflection could be joker vs green goblin since joker in a good amount of media sets up base in an abandoned carnival that has a carousel while dark reflection could be referring to how green goblin is a dark reflection of Norman Osborn, sort of like how in the 90s cartoon and Raimi series, he speaks to goblin through a mirror, like a literal dark reflection.
I do think the lotus is representative of Anne vs Luz, if only because it's positioned directly opposite a pentagram, which would fit well for Luz, but seeing as (as far as I can tell) none of the other symbols correspond to symbols on the opposite end of the cipher (aside from potentially Captain Planet vs the Toxic Avenger?), that could just be me misinterpreting this...

If the text refers to matchup, the Dark reflection of past I'm guessing is Dark Pit vs. Dark Samus but that's pretty on the nose. Dark versions of past contestants with decent enough connections.
I think the Pentagram is probably just Spawn v Ghost Rider but I also thought it might've been Trigon vs. Dormammu/Mephisto.
I've heard a lot of people say the violent kill line is Guts vs. Dimitri which works, but honestly that line is pretty generic and could apply to a bunch of different matchups. Guts vs. Dimitri is a pretty good guess though.

@Sar that's fair but imo the connections are fine enough even if they're purely Smash based. Echo fighters who are dark counterparts of their more iconic doubles who debuted long before them on the NES.
I think Cell is DS's most popular matchup, both being parasitic alien life forms who feed off/corrupt their primarily technology-focused prey. That fight is also pretty good and is basically just stats vs hax.
The most thematic fight might be a similar story beat one. An alien entity colliding with a planet and feeding off of it leading to a corruption of the area and eventual societal collapse of the planet's inhabitants (the chozo of Tallon IV) but I can't really think of any good opponents for that right now.
The connections for Dark Samus v Dark Pit are pretty surface level but I think they're fine enough. I do think that Dark Pit is not the most popular opponent for Dark Samus but he is imo the safest one.

About Guts vs Dmitri it's important to nore that the keyword to that was "Unlucky". So it could be copium. But it also just makes it feel more like Guts.

I mean, the problem there is...There's not much to work with? Blackbeard's clearly being saved for the final boss fight, and, as such, we haven't gotten a great sense of his limits yet. I'd prefer someone like Whitebeard or one of the Yonkos.

I saw the symbols either being like you said represents all 16 episodes we're getting this season, but I also thought that each symbol represented each individual combative for the first half of the season as opposed to the matchup itself, and we could get another cypher at the mid season finale when we reach the break

The man in the suit symbol OBVIOUSLY indicates that Benson from Regular Show will be in Death Battle. Why? In one episode, Benson finds a fancy suit which he decides to wear. Later he realizes that the suit is a separate entity and they do cool spy stuff.
So yes, Benson will be in Death Battle, and he will fight Hulk

I'm 99% sure I saw spawn and ghost rider in the text at the beginning so I thing that's the pentagram.
I'm also pretty damn sure I saw gojo right afterward as well.

1. It is an Iroh from ATLA match because it could be the symbol for the Order of The White Lotus which he is a major member of
2. It is Gohan vs Invincible because that symbol is one of peace and it would be a subversion because Gohan’s whole thing is gaining massive power boosts from getting mad (this one’s a bit of a stretch but I think it could work)
3. It is Splinter vs Shifu because that looks like the symbol that Splinter has on the back of his Gi in the 2012 series
Out of all of these I say that Splinter vs Shifu is the most likely one for this symbol but it could always be the other ones I guessed

God I really hope that if it is Joker Vs Giorno we do get an actual long prediction for it I love those videos so much and wheather it is toxic or not it has so much to talk about.

The flower (if it is a flower) could be usopp from one piece vs sokka from avatar as usopp fights with plants and I think sokka was part of the white lotus.
The pentagram could also be mephisto from marvel vs someone like John Constantine or Lucifer. Now the wave is most likely the little mermaid vs Noelle from black clover or Moana or a Disney princess battle royal

I’m honestly hoping that if Spy ever gets on Death Battle, his opponent is Revenant over Agent 47. Both have a lot more similarities than people would think at first.

But anyway, fun predictions! Big fan of a bunch of these.
I'm personally hoping that the skull and crossbones episode will be Ainz vs. Grim. That was one of the matchups in the deathbattlecast and it's still been on my mind ever since, and I feel like they got seriously invested in it as well. So I really do think it might end up as an actual episode at some point.
I actually do think that the chemical ring is Cole vs. Alex since the chemicals would be Cole's power source, and the virus ring would be Alex's, so it fits both. Prototype made a major point of NOT including a morality system, so it'd be a bit odd for them to focus on that, since it's 100% a Cole thing and not an Alex thing. But chemical vs. virus fits perfectly.
For the pentagram I really want it to be The Lamb (a pentacle would be more appropriate, but maybe they're fighting a witch or something). I'm not sure who the matchup would be. Maybe Brother Blood? Joseph Seed would be a stomp, and I can't think of many other cult leaders. I'd love to see Lamb vs. The (Hollow) Knight or Ori, but neither of those fit the symbol. Maybe Thoth Amon, Thulsa Doom, or a Deadlands Whateley. Both the Lovecraft Whateley's wouldn't be much of a match, but I'm sure there's at least one somewhere in the Deadlands universe that could be cool.
And yeah, Joker vs. Giorno is something I didn't know I wanted. Except... Gold Experience Requiem. The stand is both under-explained (so certain details are unclear) while also being so utterly broken that the only hard counter I can think of is The Power Of Nothing from Street Fighter, and even that is questionable (Apparently GER 's counter is based on the opponent's willpower and fighting spirit. So if you are completely empty, theoretically, it won't trigger.). As a thief Joker is somewhat qualified to keep Giorno from activating said form, but from a writing standpoint, removing Giorno's most famous ability would make for disappointed fans. So unless Joker has secretly been studying Ansatsuken on the side, I don't like his odds from that one move alone. But pre-GER Giorno vs. Joker would be awesome. Wait, on second thought, can we have Gold Experience Requiem vs. Hollow Knight? "No mind to think. No will to break."
idk if GER would even work on joker, he has fate resistance to a degree
