  • In this video I demonstrates how to make custom machine screws on your CNC mill. Stay to the end to see the how we apply the blue oxide coating to the screws.

I used to make torx screws when I was at a rifle shop. those were quite easy with a small damiter endmill.

Good video! I have been trying to go for lighter milling cuts. Fun to watch and I get to learn. Thanks.

If you just used the chips you milled out of that brass and put the chips in a standard tray, it would have given you the same bluing affect but easier. But I love how you did this amazing feat, only to make the prettiest screws in the world that nobody will see Lolol. Amazing skills.

My version of machinist hell is a bunch of nerdy 60 yo men acting like they are the master of precision in non precision applications hahaha! “You can’t use a 123 block for that!!!!!!”

What is the burgundy stopper mounted to the back of the vice with the rod sticking out to the part that you are using and where can I get one?

All that for a "flathead" broach that bad boy for a metric hex :-)

LOL Steve you are totally right! The rotary broach is on my Christmas list. I want to make a custom set of screws for my 1911 and the hex would be best.
