Automotive miracle
Extremely rare, one of 6 built with the extra 2/3 landaulet roof. Most of the 2,800 were hard top, with some landaulets, but most were 1/3 with only the rear row of seats coming down and 3 rows of seating facing forward, but 6 (possibly 8 if my memory fails) were built with a 2/3 roof and a true "Pullman" rear with the seats facing each other.
Jacob, you are very close. Official number is 7, but one stayed in company. And another mistake you make. Full Landaulets rear seats didn't face each other. Front seats were forward faced and fully foldable, so the dictators can stand there and wave to the happy hungry people :) Just for info: Josip Broz Tito owned two and the one in video is one of them. One went to Sultan of Brunei, one to Kim il Sung, one to Todor Zivkov and one to Nikolai Ceausescu. What a great company, ha?
Ah, I could swear I saw one somewhere with a full 4 seats facing each other. en.wheelsage.org/mercedes-benz/600_%28w100%29/8368/pictures/366004/ You can see W100 here with the 4 facing seats, and in the top corner, the roof being down. This was part of where the Pullman name came from, based on the Pullman berth in a railway carriage, with the facing seats. Tito's are my favourite 2, with the Romanian one (Ceausescu) being 3rd. Do you know where the other Tito 600 ended up? I know this one spent time in the UK, but where is the other?
The other Tito's 600 is still in Serbia with just a few other cars he had. Of 85 cars only 6 is still there, all others just disapear or finished in private collections. About the one on your link! Check again and you will see you are mistaken. On top left corner you can see where roof ends and it doesn't even have 6 doors. It's 1/3, not 2/3 or full landaulet.
Thank you for the reply. I shall look it up. The linked photo I had is interesting, I noticed the doors not being 6, but if one looks at where the driver's partition is relative to the roof end, it does appear to be a special type of 2/3, I don't want to argue though.

This vehicle is the ultimate in luxury and a driving machine, however, one needs very deep pockets to enjoy. It needs a qualified chauffeur ... it also needs Status of its owner ... that one cannot buy ... you either are or you are not ... buying it does make you arrive there ...Here are the real problems: its Hydraulics ...tubes, be they rubber or plastic or combination ... with age they dry out and crack, leaking fluid. They are irreparable ... they need to be changed and this a very big job. It is sluggish and hefty ...Otherwise, it is the most magnificent passenger vehicle that was ever made ...
@1.12 Wonder if it has body twist issues?
Too much in the way of body re-enforcement, the car rides as if it were "of a piece" meaning it's very solid as these were entirely built by hand, including the 4/6 door limos. The wood used in the interiors for each car comes from one tree so that theres no variations in quality, the same for the leather used.....
0:28 just imagine that the car so long that you have to build separate roof for the driver compartment and the another for passenger one.I am amazed!

the price is so high is because it was Tito's car... landaulets go for 1/2 mil, normal limos aroud and under 1 mil and 4 doors 200 up/down

Druze, Tito je jedini čovek na svetu koji je imao dva primerka od 7 koliko ih je ukupno i napravljeno. Taj jedan koji ti pomunjes je i dalje u beogradu. Medjutim, jedan od ta dva je prodat pocetkom 90-tih i od tada je u privatnoj kolekciji.. negde u v.britaniji...
