Thank you for this video, I just received mine and I wanted to watch a video to hear how it would sound. Mine came from Amazon its the DIY 7 string Lyre. I'm going to paint it and then start to play!! God bless you!!
@Maria Lisa Polegatto Oh yes, eventually I'll get the 16 String once I learn to play and become familiar. The 7-string is so good for beginners! Thanks for replying stay safe Beloved sister!
I'm interested in learning to play but I'm a lefty. Will that be a factor in how I hold and play the lyre or the position of certain cords? Will that make it more difficult to find a lyre?
Hi, no you can learn to play with any hand, hold it on your lap or play it like a harp with hands on both sides, you choose what feels right for you! :) Many blessings :)
Haha ya my friend calls it Leer, my dad says LAIR and I say Liar🤣 at this point, I just think anyone can pronounce it how they like cause for some reason it's hard to remember the actual pronunciation 🤣 since it does in fact look like a "leer". It's more elegant I guess haha
Thanks!!!!❤❤❤❤
Your welcome!
Just bought mine so excited to learn 🥰
So excited for you❤️
At 2:30 I thought my neighbor's dog had gotten out again and looked out the window
Haha, my dogs are normally somehow in the video
HAHAHAA, ME TOO.

@@marialisapolegatto7673 That's great! Thanks. :)
I bought mine last year :( i haven't touch since i broke a string while tuning it. I'm scared to rip the string again
There's only one way to learn and that's to get back at it :) Enjoy it!
The instrument is pronounced like "liar"...always. To leer is to stare at lustily.

.. and there are also different languages...
1:27 Is that a bird chipping in ?
Yes the birds in my backyard
There is something called a dictionary, for correct pronunciation.
