I really like that pipe, reminds me of the 80's race pipes guys were running on the Atc 250r's at the track near where i grew up. Those guys were all making their own pipes with amazing results. Cheers to those simpler times 🙂

You nailed it brother. What I like about the Tinman's pipes is that they aren't the huge obstructive hunks of metal hanging off the saw and getting in the way... but they do model race bike pipes but in a way that they are usable for saws.

Speaking of spacers, could you have just made an extra spacer for outside the bar?
I wish I’d known, I scrapped about 175 bars and 10 gallons of chains this summer. They didn’t sell locally at $50 for the lot. You could have had them all for the cost of shipping. I grabbed 24” for all my saws, which usually have 16” and 18”
That saw sounds so happy in wood. Smooth. All the aches and pains are gone that it has at idle.

Yeah…Biggin’..,. I look at the Stihl bars as my “Uni” mount system… they will basically fit everything I own so that’s what I’d want…why would you limit yourself to a husky mount on a homelite when you can just build backwards from the totally universal mount..,, about 10-12,years ago when I really got serious about saw building…hold up…kinda got serious because I didn’t build a building and buy that lathe and Brigeport that I could have…. Anyway… the spacer’s on the saw’s that all ride in the Stihl holes was my obvious move….
I was remembering that on a Stihl coil the champion was actually about 500 rpm’s off the other plugs??? I’m not sure if there was an electronics issue there or what… right on.., dull your chain and your going to need to set it down want to or not… and pushing to make those last couple of cuts when out wood getting has probably blown darn near as many saw’s as straight gas… I’m not counting the amateurs who straight gas a two because they don’t know about oil.., I’m taking about across the guy’s who run saw’s… your forgetting to add your oil is pretty rare… but pushing on a dull chain ain’t!!! 😉👍.
Hey Pal!!! Congratulations on the little tin-bear News!!!! That’s fantastic and I’ll be praying for 10 fingers and 10 toes and the rest will all work itself out… healthy and fat!!! Are the only thing that matters right now!!! And giving momma tin-bear a little extra love and the foot and back rubs as she’s doing the heavy lifting work right now for her family…. I know that most fellas who think that they are real men can’t last three days at home raising their children and doing the house work and feeding the crew and all that…going out to work is like getting to go on a little vacation in all actuality!!! I think lots of men really don’t appreciate exactly what they have in a good woman!! Damn Straight! If you are reading this and you have one go out of your way to stop and grab some flowers or something out of your norm and tell her thanks… she’ll damn sure appreciate that you even are see her!!! A couple of children are chickens in your front yard and the signs of the most wealthy man on earth in my opinion! And there’s lots of kids who need your help to…. They don’t need to be yours for your helping to raise them… or be a big brother… there’s so many young inner city kids who could have a different life if a guy would take them cutting firewood on the weekends… and a little fishing here and there…. This world needs us to change it for the better!!

Noticing a lot of sawdust building up on the air intake. Since the Homelites run hot anyway would it be possible to rig up some sort of deflector on the front side of the recoil cover to minimize? Anything to let these sweet saws live a little longer! Keep up the good work
