It's simply not worth it and even with everything turned down to very low + Ray Tracing turned on, it still causes lag while swinging close to the streets. I mean, you have a valid point but... This game's implementation of reflections is a difficult sacrifice for me. It's too good. I don't mind no RT on smaller screens like steam deck but, on my big 4K display? Ehhh... I've got some soul-searching to do.

Exclusive full screen helped a lot. I also noticed I was getting really low cpu usage 8-10%, did some digging and found disabling SMT in bios cpu settings helps a little. My cpu usage increased to about 10% more, still not very good but it’s way less stutters than before.
I thought changing my settings so drastically from high would make more of an impact on quality, but everything still looks beautiful and it runs way better! Thank you!
Switching to dlss and upscaling set to balanced worked wonders for me also very low traffic and npcs helped but streets don't feel empty at all Update: now using quality upscaling with stable frame rates and high textures thank you for fixing my game.
Easy way to improve fps without turning off hyperthreading in bios (but a bit annoying as you will need to do it after every launch of the game), boot the game, open task manager and go to details page, right click on spider man process, set affinity, uncheck all cpus and check every cpu from 0 to 7. This helped me a LOT frame drops from 60 to 48 and second-long stutters are gone, hope it will help you as well
i am currently getting 110-140 fps with ray tracing on , some settings on high /very high and 2 on medium .RTX 3080 and i9 12900k. My rigs not amazing but super happy with the performance. I usually never have ray tracing on games@@somerandomyoutuber7202
I found out the bset option for best performance. Go to your power options and set your power plan to ultimate performance. No stutters anymore or lag if you have cpu bottleneck issues.

I didn’t buy a top end gpu/cpu to play games on lowered settings at 1080p. The amount of mediums this video suggests is a no for me. With everything maxed and rt on, my 10900k and 3090 still hits 60-65fps lows in some places while swinging.. that’s insanely bad optimization imo. Is the game trying to be the new crysis remastered or something?

This helped me have RT with a 3700x/6700xt. I know if I had a 5600x it would solidify the settings with RT. Luckily I have a free sync 4k tv. Plays really smooth and I get RT in a game that gives me playable fps. I really need to upgrade my cpu but I can live with it for now
Also, you should block the game's connection (in and out) indexing the spideman's archive .exe in the firewall adding a new rule exclusive for it. Sony sends himself data of our gameplay while we play and that makes the game to microstutter in some instances of the gameplay!

This is probably a bit of a late answer but the way you do this is by going to Windows Defender Firewall (start buttom + typing wf.msc) then clicking on outbound rules, selecting new rule, then selecting the game's exe file (can be found by right clicking on the desktop icon and "open location") and then selecting "block location". Then you'll be prompted to write a Name and Description. Here you can type anything, but in this case Spider-Man would be the most obvious choice. This is done so you know what you blocked and you don't forget. Then you repeat this process but inbound rules, and you're ready.

I had issues keeping a solid 60fps @1080. Using AMD FSR instead of TAA and Exclusive fullscreen has really made a difference. My fans seem to have calmed down as well and the game runs very smooth. 1660ti Ryzen 5 3600.

G-sync is for Nvidia graphics cards and Free-sync is for AMD graphics cards. G-sync Fixes screen tearing and stuttering whenever your refresh rate starts to dip. Free-sync only Reduces screen tearing and stuttering. G-sync is better in my opinion.

The moment when i saw that this dude has a RTX 3080Ti i knew that this video wasn't going to work. The mayor part of these tips are things that don't improve so much the fps, I've already modified them or they're not available on my system because my GPU isn't a high end one, for example DLSS and Ray tracing, if my gpu was available to apply those techniques that would mean that i already have a good GPU, thing that oppose the purpose of this video. Whenever people recommend anisotropic filtering lower than 8x I immediately stop the video and disregarding everything that's been said in it. VERY clear indicator that the person speaking knows absolutely nothing about what he's talking about. It's 2022 people, come on. Modern GPUs no longer suffer from anisotropic filtering, go with x16 at all times and MAYBE drop down to 8x and see if that helps (only if you're already at very low fps levels), but never below that. there won't be any significant performance benefit and the visual downgrade is substantial.
@@Ms7mido nope, there's no reason to go texture quality high at the highest if you have enough VRAM (unless the game is installed in a hard drive, you'll have more texture pop in because of that) DLSS should only be enabled if you are not CPU bottlenecked, spider-man is unique in that it's an extremely CPU heavy game, and people with older generation CPUs probably won't be able to go beyond 100 fps purely due to CPU bottleneck ironically, shadow quality has very little performance impact on the newer GPUs, and there's no reason to set it to medium unless your GPU is really struggling. Keep in mind that the youtuber is talking out of his ass without showing performance differences between the various settings SSAO should *NOT* be used! HBAO+ has very subtle effect which improves the appearance of the lighting in the game, especially indoors, while SSAO has very noticeable shadow bleed that darkens the entire scene. Seriously, the SSAO settings in this game are trash, it just looks ugly and is not realistic at all. What you should do is test between the two and only use SSAO if HBAO+ is giving you a significant performance hit compared to SSAO I actually don't want to keep on going since this video is pissing me off, but as you can see there's probably not a single good advice in this video
I have a Laptop with Rtx3060, Ryzen 5 and 16gb ram. I never had issues like this with a game. Cyberpunk, Ac Od, and many other games run smooth as it gets at 4k or 1440p with high or even ultra settings at some point... Not this one. No matter what i do i cant get more than 60fps which drops low as 17 soon as i start to walk on the street or get into a building. Same when i get to a cutscene... But the craziest thig is this : When i stand still in the city on the sidewalk i get 23 fps. Soon as i look up ( still standing still at the same spot ) my fps goes up to 57... Look back down again at cars it goes back to 23 fps. 😳

Hello, i have an msi laptop gp66 with i7-10750H and rtx 3060 laptop gpu and 16gb ram, game runs nice but i think that my laptop can run it better. my gpu usage is 40-50% , my cpu usage is 20-30% while im playing and i have 60-90fps in medium - low settings. Today i tried playing this game in high setting and my fps where 55-60fps very stable. I don’t understand why it runs in low at 70 or 90 fps, maybe the laptop isnt using all the gpu performance . I’m running a Gtx 1650 and i7 4790 and no matter what settings I use even with highest performance Fsr and absolute lowest settings I get about 20 fps when I look at a sizeable portion of the actual city and this affects swinging around pretty bad
For some reason, it doesn't matter what I do or what settings I use, I am getting constant stutters, terrible performance and a whole lot of other issues. I have an RTX 3070 with a Ryzen 5600x CPU and I am getting much lower fps than everyone else I see on CZcams. Not to mention most people on CZcams are playing at 4K, but I'm playing at 1080p. At the moment, I can't play with ray tracing enabled as it's very unoptimized. The only way I can get good FPS is if I turn it off, even then, as mentioned before, I still get stuttering, which does smooth out the longer I play, but it never fully goes away. At this point, I'm heavily considering doing a factory reset on my PC when I get a large enough flash drive to backup all my most important files. If that doesn't do anything then I don't know what to do. I've always had bad luck when it comes to performance on PC's no matter how much money I throw at it.
There's a problem with my computer my spec is NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 ti 8gb ram and I don't have DLSS on my game. Once I checked the game's script and I saw "Disabling DLSS as it is not supported" and this script wasn't on just 1 thing I saw it on many things in the script having the SAME thing. Anisotropic filtering is extremely cheap to use, just default it to 16x or 8x.

Changing to Exclusive FullScreen helped my avg fps by 10 and lessened the huges frame drops.

I’m no expert but Spider-Man is a very heavy cpu intensive game and sometimes lowering settings only helps so far cuz of cpu bottlenecks.

easily 1440p rtx on high depending on your cpu model, or even 4k with upscaling and rtx on (maybe dlss at performance)

On your laptop and go to where it says display and click “setup G-sync” and there you’ll be able to enable G-sync.

The moment when i saw that this dude has a RTX 3080Ti i knew that this video wasn't going to work. The mayor part of these tips are things that don't improve so much the fps, I've already modified them or they're not available on my system because my GPU isn't a high end one, for example DLSS and Ray tracing, if my gpu was available to apply those techniques that would mean that i already have a good GPU, thing that oppose the purpose of this video. Same goes to G-Sync/Freesync because if i have a lot of money to buy such gamer monitors i would have preferred to use that money to buy a better PC instead.
Only if you are a crazy, hardcore gamer who wants to run this game at 144fps instead of 143fps this video could help you.

This game for me has very high cpu usage and low gpu usage. Is there any way I can make it use more of my gpu instead of cpu? I know it's a cpu intensive game but 100% cpu with 20% gpu seems a bit odd, but I'm not very good with technical things so maybe this is normal?

Whenever people recommend anisotropic filtering lower than 8x I immediately stop the video and disregarding everything that's been said in it. VERY clear indicator that the person speaking knows absolutely nothing about what he's talking about.
It's 2022 people, come on. Modern GPUs no longer suffer from anisotropic filtering, go with x16 at all times and MAYBE drop down to 8x and see if that helps (only if you're already at very low fps levels), but never below that. there won't be any significant performance benefit and the visual downgrade is substantial.

@@Ms7mido nope, there's no reason to go texture quality high at the highest if you have enough VRAM (unless the game is installed in a hard drive, you'll have more texture pop in because of that)
DLSS should only be enabled if you are not CPU bottlenecked, spider-man is unique in that it's an extremely CPU heavy game, and people with older generation CPUs probably won't be able to go beyond 100 fps purely due to CPU bottleneck
ironically, shadow quality has very little performance impact on the newer GPUs, and there's no reason to set it to medium unless your GPU is really struggling. Keep in mind that the youtuber is talking out of his ass without showing performance differences between the various settings
SSAO should *NOT* be used! HBAO+ has very subtle effect which improves the appearance of the lighting in the game, especially indoors, while SSAO has very noticeable shadow bleed that darkens the entire scene. Seriously, the SSAO settings in this game are trash, it just looks ugly and is not realistic at all. What you should do is test between the two and only use SSAO if HBAO+ is giving you a significant performance hit compared to SSAO

I have a Laptop with Rtx3060, Ryzen 5 and 16gb ram. I never had issues like this with a game. Cyberpunk, Ac Od, and many other games run smooth as it gets at 4k or 1440p with high or even ultra settings at some point... Not this one. No matter what i do i cant get more than 60fps which drops low as 17 soon as i start to walk on the street or get into a building. Same when i get to a cutscene... But the craziest thig is this : When i stand still in the city on the sidewalk i get 23 fps. Soon as i look up ( still standing still at the same spot ) my fps goes up to 57... Look back down again at cars it goes back to 23 fps. 😳
i got rtx 3070 i7 16bg ram and the performance is inconsistent no matter what settings or resolution....the game needs a major patch
Thats because when you look up there is less geometry being rendered on your screen...

Hello, i have an msi laptop gp66 with i7-10750H and rtx 3060 laptop gpu and 16gb ram, game runs nice but i think that my laptop can run it better. my gpu usage is 40-50% , my cpu usage is 20-30% while im playing and i have 60-90fps in medium - low settings. Today i tried playing this game in high setting and my fps where 55-60fps very stable. I don’t understand why it runs in low at 70 or 90 fps, maybe the laptop isnt using all the gpu performance . I’m running a Gtx 1650 and i7 4790 and no matter what settings I use even with highest performance Fsr and absolute lowest settings I get about 20 fps when I look at a sizeable portion of the actual city and this affects swinging around pretty bad

For some reason, it doesn't matter what I do or what settings I use, I am getting constant stutters, terrible performance and a whole lot of other issues. I have an RTX 3070 with a Ryzen 5600x CPU and I am getting much lower fps than everyone else I see on CZcams. Not to mention most people on CZcams are playing at 4K, but I'm playing at 1080p. At the moment, I can't play with ray tracing enabled as it's very unoptimized. The only way I can get good FPS is if I turn it off, even then, as mentioned before, I still get stuttering, which does smooth out the longer I play, but it never fully goes away. At this point, I'm heavily considering doing a factory reset on my PC when I get a large enough flash drive to backup all my most important files. If that doesn't do anything then I don't know what to do. I've always had bad luck when it comes to performance on PC's no matter how much money I throw at it.
try updating your motherboard bios
You might have a bottleneck with CPU put the resolution to 1440p or 4k

There's a problem with my computer my spec is NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 ti 8gb ram and I don't have DLSS on my game. Once I checked the game's script and I saw "Disabling DLSS as it is not supported" and this script wasn't on just 1 thing I saw it on many things in the script having the SAME thing.
