When I saw this Tour , The Jan Hammer Group opened up. They were killing it. Does anyone have any of that stuff. I Just went to the Electric Years Tour. 45 years later. Al is still The " LEGEND" That he was back then. God bless him.

Classic Performance from four great musicians. 1982, I was 22. Jan Hammer was in the Jeff Beck Band at that time. With Bass player Wilbur Bascom and Drummer Extraordinaire Narada Michael Walden. This lineup of great musicians, Drummer Steve Gadd, Bass player Anthony Jackson, Mingo Lewis percussion, the great Jan Hammer on keyboard instruments. The Great Guitarist Al Dimeola.

The Electric Rendezvous album tracks live! Nuff said! Al announces the band members and says that Anthony Jackson is playing a Contra Bass, a six string bass, one of a kind. This concert is from 1982. Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake & Palmer had played an Alembic six string bass in 1977 on their tour. Alembic had also made at least two different models of an eight string bass which both John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin and Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake & Palmer were performing with as early as 1976.

Alas with the early analog synths, you had to periodically tune them as they heated up or changed temperature as their oscillators would drift.

As you can easily see by my moniker Jazz and everything around isn`t my cup of tea. But there are exceptions. Jazz-Rock with the focus on rock. Like this awesome show featuring some of the best heavy weights one can find in this genre. But that`s only my humble opinion.

Not the early band. The early band of Al's was the one after the recording of the Casino album. That band did not have Jan hammer and Anthony Jackson.

This is the period when Gad was trying to get off coke. He’s making a lot of mistakes which is why Simon Phillips finished this tour. Gadd has since recovered and is back to his earlier greatness.

Damn I LOVE this line up and the entire album, but holy shit it sounds like they had a serious hangover during this concert. It's riddled with mistakes. Jan Hammer played out of key in half of Electric Rendezvous, not to mention gadds trigger happy playing in danza xD awesome to hear these songs good quality tho
