- How Can You Mend A Broken Heart? is a song released by the Bee Gees in 1971. The song had been written by Barry and Robin Gibb in August 1970.when the Gibb brothers had reconvened following a period of break-up and alienation. They said that they originally offered it to Andy Williams, but ultimately the Bee Gees recorded it themselves and included it on their 1971 album, Trafalgar.
Another beautiful voice from the Gibbs. Sorry that he was the youngest brother and died earliest. Rest in peace Andy, Maurice and Robin, you are immortal to us, and God Bless Barry, the oldest brother and his family. We love all of you.
2021 and still missing all of the Gibb brothers.
I love this song but it makes me so sad. He's been gone for so long. It just breaks my heart. If I only could I'd bring Andy, Maurice and Robin back. I miss them all so much. I can't even imagine how their family must've felt losing those three beautiful people. It's just not fair. No one said a word about the sorrow.

I got to meet him, about a year before the end. He was so sweet, touring the B circuit. It was at the hotel he was staying at, in the bar. I was shy and young, and he seemed a little hurt when I didn't reach out to him when he did me. When I did, he brought me in to him, like a side hug. It was amazing, I was a fan from the beginning. We got a table next to the stage, and he sort of sang to me a few times in the show. I'll never forget Andy. Heart broken the way he spent his last 6 months.
I will forever cherish your performance, Andy. Thank you for the wonderful people who made this collection possible. You will always be alive in my memory!

Barry Gibb really was the brains behind this musical family. He knew how to make them stars and keep them stars. I wish Andy had lived to be in the group. It would have been great. His voice was just like theirs. A perfect brotherly fit.

People don't know that Andy had QUIT the yoyos.nAnd then in 1987 recorded " Arrow Through The Heart" another Barry Gibb production. Incredible stuff. Andy had a heart condition. Doctors did not have the life saving protocal\ information his UK doctors knew about or had in his medical so dossier. Destiny.
He was like his interview stated " On his next round of conquering" the music world again. I believe in 1987/ 1988 Andy WOULD HAVE TOURED along with the BEEGEES or cobheadlined with them.

I remember being in Chile when Andy performed this (at Viña del Mar Music Festival in the early eighties). I was amazed for two things: He was so loved by the people there and he knew it. He sang for almost two hours (maybe more) in order to pay back his public for all the love they gave to him, singing songs he hand't prepared like this one. See that girl that climbed the stage just to kiss him full on his lips. Only latins would do such a thing and what Andy did?..He just let her do it....

Been listening to Bee Gees since late 60s and to me his voice isn't as good as Barry's. The vocal tones are not as rich and clear. Andy's voice had more rasp; however, he sounded a little hoarse here.
