- APPLIQUE & FREE-MOTION EMBROIDERY Tutorial | Graffiti Inspired Textile Art | Didsbury Art Studio
With Graffiti as a theme I used a secondary sourced image for inspo and combined appliqué with free-motion embroidery. In this video I am using scraps of fabrics for appliqué and literally drawing with machine stitch over the top. Hope you LIKE👏 and consider subscribing if you are new around here!
thanks SO much for watching my videos.
What do you work as?
After doing my Textiles degree I did my PGCE teacher training at Goldsmiths, University of London to become an Art and Design Secondary School Teacher. Currently, I work in a hospital teaching art part-time to mainly 16 -18 year olds. In addition, I teach art in my studio on Saturdays and I give textile workshops to schools. I set up this channel in April 2020 after being furloughed during lockdown but soon realised I really enjoyed designing, creating projects, filming and editing my videos....so if you'd like to support me please subscribe! I would love to spend more time making extra videos every week 😍

Thanks, Sally! My mom's old Pfaff sewing machine has the free-motion setting for embroidery. I'll try it.
Yes! definitely do try it...there is so much mileage with it! thanks Mike
thanks Sally, I've not used zig zag stich when free motion stitching - I'll be sure to incorporate this in my textile art. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Hi Victoria yes can cover an area quite quickly and add another type of design to your work.😀
