Both are great poachers of goals, very intelligent off the ball movement,
and both came into the Pro game from the very bottom,
working their way through Sunday League football before eventually
earning their 3 lions jersey's.

John Tattersall good point, I never made that connection but there are a lot of parallels. Also both denied more international caps unjustly due to players with bigger reputations getting starts over them.
Vardy is miles better than Wright though
Should have given Vardy the respect he deserved at the World Cup. Sterling was terrible for 3/4 games in a row and was kept in somehow. Vardy has been scoring 20 goals a season for years now in the Prem and was snubbed.
@Hugh Jenas Was it to miscontrol the ball constantly for the first three games and have no impact? He started doing decently in his 4th game or something and was our worst forward player. To deny a guy that has been putting 20 goals away in the prem every season a chance at a full game in his place was disappointing.
@@allbies Spot on. Note how many of those goals were scored within minutes of bring subbed onto the pitch. With a bit more trust placed in him, and more game time as a result, he could have had an even bigger impact.
Best part was he said it was due to racism that he was being criticised, it’s like fuck off mate you were just poor for the tournament. If he’s been playing like he plays for City we’d have been on for the final

Vardy is a joy to watch, his goals, textbook snapperoo. No pondering shall I or not---straight in there, giving the oppositon no time to decide how to tackle him. Lineka couldn;t hold a candle to him. Yet because he's from a less glamerous side, he seems to be overlooked for the usual bunch of northern or London playboys.

What a terrific player he is and yet we wasted him by not picking him. We also get so fixated with age as well when it comes to footballers. If we'd stopped focusing so much on his age and actually picked him he'd have got so many more goals and probably then wouldn't have retired. On his day he's far better than Kane.

@Cruyff U do know vardy played and did very little. He barely gets any touches in the game less so than kane. So really what makes him a better player when kane if fit scores more goals than him.
