  • How to make glue for paper and cardboard from flour and water theme of today's video. Channel Himself Master: qoo.by/2tKU
    An electrician to himself: qoo.by/2tKT
    From paper and cardboard in the technique of papier-mache make dummies, masks, teaching aids, toys, theatrical props, caskets. In some cases, papier-mâché makes even furniture and fixtures that are not so easy to distinguish from "real" ones.
    I want to show you a few works that survived not only their creators, but even their children, and perhaps even their grandchildren.
    Many sources of the Internet claim that China is the birthplace of papier-mâché, where paper was invented. The first items of papier-mâché were discovered during excavations in China, these were ancient Chinese armor and helmets. To give them stiffness, a multilayer coating was applied with varnish.
    At that time, papier-mache armor was the most technological protective equipment, it stood the hit of an arrow and the sweeping blow of a sword. Along with good strength paper armor is very little weighed, allowing the fighter to quickly move in battle.
    From China, interest in papier-mâché spread to Japan and Persia, where in this technique masks and other attributes for the holidays were made. Gradually this technique spread all over the world. The most popular European countries. From the middle of the XVII century, France began its own production of products in the papier-mâché technique; Originally it was the making of dolls, which were very popular. The British followed their example since 1670. The most popular papier-mache was in the 1800s. In Russia, the technique of working with papier-mache appeared under Peter I.
    The PVA glue was invented in the middle of the twentieth century. And before that, glue was used for papier-mache based on flour or starch.
    Many indicate the proportions in volume per 1 part of the flour 3 parts water. Such a paste turns out thick. It is more convenient for me to work with a paste more liquid. It better softens the newspaper and book page. For 1 part of the flour, depending on what you are going to glue, it is possible to add two to eight parts of water.
    I, for work with pieces of a newspaper sheet, use the following recipe for preparation of flour paste:
    - 1 cup of flour;
    - 4.5 glasses of water;
    - 1 teaspoon of salt.
    To prevent food from unpleasant taste and smell, molding and the formation of toxins of microbial origin, preservatives have been used by people in the ancient world. One of the conservation objectives was long-term storage of food products. One of the most used preservatives in the ancient world was table salt.
    Let's start the preparation of the paste:
    Pour 1 part of the flour into the pan and pour into it 1 part of cold water. We mix everything to a homogeneous state.
    Then, stirring, pour in 3.5 parts of hot boiled water, which can be boiled in advance.
    Transfer the pan to the small fire of the plate and bring to a boil, stirring constantly and intensively so that the paste does not stick to the bottom of the pan and is not burnt.
    From the moment of boiling, cook the paste for five minutes and if you are satisfied with the consistency of the paste, you can remove it from the plate for cooling.
    If the paste is thick, add water and bring it back to a boil.
    If the paste has turned liquid, continue to cook it until the condition you need.
    Thus, for 10 - 15 minutes you will prepare a flour paste.
    Flour paste - a perishable product, is suitable for no more than one day of work, as it quickly turns sour.
    From flour paste, paper and cardboard, using the papier-mache technique, I want to make a model of the lamp, from which I will then take a copy and get down to manufacturing the lamp body.
