In this tutorial, we breakdown how to edit the teleportation effect in Final Cut Pro 10. This beginner effect emulates the teleportation visual effect from movies and media such as with Nightcrawler from X-Men: X2, X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool 2, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, as well as with David Rice from Jumper, and with Number 5 from Umbrella Academy. This effect does not require any plugins or a green screen. It just uses built in Final Cut effects such as simple transform and keyframes. It can be achieved with only an iPhone and a computer with FCP. The same steps apply if editing on Premiere Pro.
This VFX effect can be used when filmmaking and be included as a fun gag in your own films! You can also take it a step up and make it cinematic with sound effects (sound fx).
