UPDATE: I reached out to Kiwi Camping and they eventually got back to me 3 weeks later and offered me some some seam sealant. After giving their Weka 2 tent some positive feedback the past year, thousands of views on my channel and helping to sell a few as well I thought I would have gotten a better response. I did get a refund for the tent but I paid to get it couriered back so basically I hired the tent for the night.
with that gap in the zips it would never keep the bugs out in summer, best to be rid

Couple of Aluminium tent poles bro and you’ll have an awesome Awning to, with the vestibule flap, looked like a good tent

sealant…oh so they gonna offer that to everyone that buys that tent 🙄 and then the courier fee wow u have to pay money for making them aware of their mistake that can save them more than the courier fee

Still smiling and positive after the tent leaked so badly - such a gentleman😃Very disappointing about Kiwi Camping’s response and lack of concern about the tent. We put floor mats down too, makes it so cosy. Thanks so much for showing us, I will be testing my 4e before going on a trip in October. I’ve never done that before, probably should have been with our other tents, but definitely will this time.
I still gave the camp a 8.5/ 10 and I did like the tent. Be good if the back door was like a vestibule and had more of a gap for better protection. But setting up a tent on a nice day to make a cute video for a promo doesn't cut it when the weather packs up sometimes unexpectedly.
I like rainy weather like that especially sleeping in a tent while cooking something for breakfast ☺️
It looks like an awesome tent & I think maybe your bed against that side pushed that side outwards & that maybe how the water got in. You might have to put your bed along the side away from the doorways?

That’s the reason I sleep in a hammock with a 12’ x 10’ rain fly during our rainy season. Of course this method only works if you have trees that will hold your weight. You’ll be up off the ground, if you get a rain fly with doors they can be open while cooking, and you can stay fairly warm from the wind and rain.
Great video. I to found out the hard way about leaky seams. I either pay extra to have all seams sealed up or do it myself.

Not wrong about the worst part of camping is packing up mate. I have a 16ft by 16ft camper trailer. Now thats hard haha. Thats why we are buying a small caravan. Fantastic mate. Sorry about the leaks. I did think of 100 mile an hour tape. Super strong and waterproof. I used it on my body board back in the day. Fantastic mate. Well done👌

Have you heard of adventure kings (swags) canvas tent? All seasons very durable and very warm in winter. 😊
I was looking at a swagger 3, but had none in stock and have heard mixed reviews especially the waterproofness. But I do have a new tent to try out soon, have had it for a few weeks just got out out yet.. too windy
You always put a good quality tarp down on the ground for your tent to sit on just adds a layer between you and the ground so no water or moister come up from the ground.

I thought sleeping in tents and water leaks were to be accepted as normal , adds to the
fun , most of mine weren't waterproof but didn't have the expensive camera
gear so I remember moving everything to the dry areas and waiting for daylight
to see the damage .
If tents are advertised as waterproof then they should be waterproof, especially if they have a high hydrostatic head rating of 5000mm

I've owned a Kea 4E for 5 years, been in some torrential storms and it has never leaked, do you think your bed was pushed up against the wall? This will cause it to leak...
Hi Gav, good question. I was aware that the 3 zips had a gap at the bottom so I made sure that my bed was not pushed up against the wall especially with the heavy rain. The outer was far enough away from the inner plus it had storm flaps over the zips. You can not help having your bed or bedding touching the inner in the majority of tents, they tend to slide that way like a magnet. Does your 3 way zip look like this one, not sealed?

We’ve had no issues with a Kea 5e or 4e either, both are red and grey with the lower waterproof rating to the current ones. I’ve just ordered a Kea 4e to downsize from the 5e for myself and I’m abit worried now.

Invest in a Russian Bear Tent.. Price is up a bit, it's a 4 season Tent. And very rugged..
