I’m glad I found this video. I have health assessment check off today, worth 50 points. This video covered everything we had to learn. It’s super short and very helpful. I sent this video to a few of my classmates ❤.
I wish my programs head to toe was this short. We have to do cranial nerves, ROM x3 per joint/extremity, strength, Romberg, gait, reflexes, Babinski, check all pulses, listen in 20 spots for breath sounds, and inspect, palpate, auscultate, percuss each system as applicable. It takes 20-30 minutes. I think this one is way more realistic on how we will perform them as a nurse.
Wow! That is an extensive head to toe assessment. I have never seen a nurse do all of that in my clinical rotations. But, I’ve been told by multiple nurses that nursing school is extremely different from actual clinical practice.
This video STATS are wrong. Her video should be viewed over a million times. Cause i know alone ive watched it about 200,000 times lol. Amazing job you are truly helping me through school.
Ty for this. I started my first of 5 semesters of nursing school and trying to get "the big picture" of what we are supposed to be learning. Our professors aren't explaining anything and just threw us to the sharks. I will use this as a guide. Great job!
I was literally struggling because my Clinical Instructor said that we have to do a return demo about cephalocaudal assessment for 10-15 mins only. I was in panic until I saw this. It's a very great help, thank you so much!
@@lisabrum4000 I’m in my second semester at the moment. This looks like it was your first or second semester? What was nursing school like in spring and fall 2020?
Was so much more helpful to watch this versus the ones we have to watch for the school haha! Doesn't feel as scripted and just made it easier to follow along!
i wish the head to toe assessment for the program i'm in was this simple. I have to do all of the cranial nerves, do the range of motion for all joints, snellen chart, babinski, rhomburg, stereogenosis, graphesthesia, state word for word 7+ things we're looking for while examining each body part, etc in less than 30 minutes. So many people have failed bc they ask us to do so much in so little time. Even when the professor was doing the demonstration she wasn't able to do it all in 30 minutes and she forgot a lot of stuff 😭
Level 3 we get watched in clinical with a patient over our head to toe and I never knew if I was doing it right. This is really going to help ! Thank you!
Thank you for this video. Best one I've seen on here so far. Lab test outs are in a few weeks and the physical assessment is something I'm confident about
Great job. I would also ask my patient when the had their last bowel movement, and also ask them if they had been urinating and having a burning sensation while urinating. You can also assess their mood and affect. Anyway, great job. Thanks
Professor Parducci!! Thank you so much, I learned from the best (: miss you and hope all is well! I work on a cardiac/ stroke unit now and LOVE IT! Do head to toes, neuro checks and NIHSS assessments daily(:

I have a quick question. if you need to do a physical check up for a job, does your doctor check your “private” part as part of the physical check up for the job or only if they have your consent?
Missed a step on the abdominal assessment and did not assess the client’s gait at the end. I Remember our school had us do this in 7 minutes. Love how relaxed this feels. Btw I’m a nurse now heading for my first day on the job and thought to see some videos as a refresher. You did great. Excellent overall.
Thanks so much! Yes for this assignment our instructor told us we did not need to "percuss" the abdomen. But in real life def need to inspect, auscultate, percuss and palpate!
@@lisabrum4000 Hi Lisa! Thank you for the excellent head-to-toe assessment! I loved how systematic it was. I also loved how calm and confident you were. I find it so difficult as a student to present myself with confidence... I am in a nursing program in Canada right now and our instructor asked us not to percuss as well! One thing that my school did different is that we need to check cap refill for the toes too. Other than that our head-to-toe check off is really, really similar!
This was my first time watching ur videos I will definitely come to watched this. How long does it take for someone to be like that, u sounded so professional. I want to sound like that as well.

Thank you! I made this in nursing school for my health assessment class as well (: I auscultated her carotid for any bruit, my program had it on our checklist. It's a certain sound which can indicate stenosis in the artery.
Hi! This was for health assessment class so i was a junior here i believe?! It was one of the first core nursing classes bc we had to learn HTT before going to clinical!
Unfortunately this is what my college wanted for our head to toe check off and i dont have the rubric anymore! This is pretty general for any school i would say plus or minus a few assessments! i did not have to do cranial nerves for this specific one
