Ovi now 60 goals from the record. Very bad season going on but you would think he still scores +10 goals this season to make it less than 50 to go. I was one of those that said 5 years ago that he has no chance of beating 894 goals but it seems likely now. He can obviously still play a few 10-20 goal seasons, powerplay goals and emptynetters if not anything else.
It's not all about Ovi, if team doing bad then Ovi will not score, he need a good apples, without Backstrom team is facing tough times
@@Rezisorss Didnt say that did I? Although you can clearly see the lack of effort and speed in his game. It looks like he is just trying to stay uninjured. I dont blame him. At this point his major goal should be the record, any serious injury and it's over. He is 39 next season, Selänne scored 31 goals in a season when he was over 40yo. He should get to 900 goals from here, just play smart.

@@11111111andrey yep, that's true. He would be at 900 already without them but in the end it doesnt matter if he ends up with 895 or 950. It will be unbreakable if the sport or rules dont change much.

A win by the Caps by more than 2 goals is a rarity this season. Very surprised the Bs played as poorly as they did. Great8 surpasses Gretzky for all time empty-net goals. Give credit to the Caps for their energy and push to win.

I’m from Toronto and watch a ton of hockey. Every morning I wake up, have my coffee, and watch all the games highlights. Anyways, my point is, every goal that goes in comes out of the net so fast that it’s hard to tell for the fans if it goes in. This seems like it’s been going on for the last 3-5 years and I hate it. Why not go back to the looser netting when someone scored and the puck went into the net it actually stayed in the net. I hear no one complaining about this but it drives me nuts.

It's a very tough task to go all the way down to Boston. Go into a game is Boston home and have a great effort and an 18 safe shutout and win 3 to 0! Washington played a much better game than Boston did tonight! Ovi is on a roll now, and Washington next game will be at 1.30 PM tomorrow vs. Vancouver in Washington. Boston plays one of their arch nemesis Tampa Bay at 7PM in Boston on Tuesday.

Congrats Caps, absolutely agree best season game. Nice to see OVI scoring more goals & catching up with Gretzky (60). As a European looking forward to watch this weekend match in reasonable time this was nightmare to watch. Very static from Bruins, lack of speedy skating and always behind with the puck. I guess we can't win every game & hopefully will improve/learn form it and save more goals for Play-offs :-) Lots of love to Boston, good recovery ❤
