    • @TheBushLeague
      @TheBushLeague Před 4 dny

      Rap back then wasn't like it is now. Venues were afraid of violence and some cities didn't want particular artists in their city for that reason. When Dre was in NWA they ran into random anti-profanity laws in the South that made it illegal to perform their songs with the actual lyrics. A Magic Johnson co-sign signaled that things were gonna be cool and made the "establishment" more comfortable allowing them to perform. His word in borad rooms and city halls carried a lot of weight because of the investments he was making in urban areas across the country. People will still shellshocked from the East-West beef.
