- This is the ultimate V8 Vantage from Aston Martin, and the only one in the world that's street legal! There are only 7 Vantage AMR Pro racecars in total, each costing over £1m when new, and this is the only one that has been converted to be legal to drive on the road. Let's check it out!
At Aston Martin Cheltenham, we are greeted by a fabulous display of cars from a private collection including the V600 Prototype Coupe, V600 Roadster, brand new V12 Vantage, and the Vantage AMR Pro. These cars form a part of a fantastic collection and an ideal backdrop for today's shoot of something completely exclusive and never previously experienced on the road.
The AMR Pro brand began with the Vantage back in 2017, intended to be the ultimate gentleman's racer, featuring elements of the Vantage GT4 and Vantage GTE racecars, as well as wearing the halo livery from the 2017 Le Mans 24H winning #97 Vantage. The engine is unrestricted to 509bhp from the GT4, with aggressive bodywork to match, with both the wing and bonnet coming straight from the GTE car. On start up though, that's when things start to get very aggressive, with a bellow that almost makes my Vantage GT8 seem pedestrian.
After a walkaround of the car, and the most unbelievable cold start sound, let's get out onto the road in the AMR Pro to see what the experience is like. Of course this is a car designed to be driven at maximum attack and therefore high in the rev range. While it might be road registered, it still needs to be considered as a racecar and freely revved, with a conscious effort to avoid traffic and awkward road situations. Nonetheless, it is the most brilliant of experiences, and a truly unique opportunity.

Darren turner took me round Goodwood in the actual GT4 car. Crazy. One thing was the brakes , unbelievable!
My first time back in the UK in july in 4 years and I always pop into AM Cheltenham for a dribble and that V12GT was in the car park - lovely, lovely thing! I heard it was in a collection but didn’t know it was quite such a collection - hopefully the generous owner will indeed let you look at some of the other things especially if they have a 177!

There’s a noticeable delay from the pull of the paddle until the shift happens. I’ve never driven a paddle shift car and if I did I’d want the shifts to be instant.

The last gen vantage has to be one of the best looking front engine sports cars! Especially the gt8 and gt12! They just LOOK so timeless more than ANY OTHER! And I mean any! I do think the c7 zo6 is a stunning looking front engine sports car as well if I had to pick of the 2 it would be the zo6 because it's power but if the vantage had 650hp I'd probably take the vantage! It would be a hard decision! And dark British racing green is by far my favorite color on any car! God bless all🙏❤

Now that car with that color & spec that's one worth selling some of the cars like the dbs, sto, 4 seat Ferrari, c63, gt8 & other odd ball / older cars to add to the collection! It'd look great next to the senna, Ford gt, zenvo even in the color spec it is lol, AMG gt black series ect! That sounds better than anything in the collection currently, and it as well as the one your following would be up there with best looking in the collection!
