It’s missing the parts where Lot wanted to throw his daughters to the sex mad crowd to protect the angels and after Lots wife is salt, his daughters get him drunk to have sex with him so they can be pregnant. Good times. Lots of morals to be learned along the way. /s
It's also missing the part where Abraham just negotiates with God about bot destroying the city. It went on for awhile, but let's just say it came to God agreeing that if 10 people in Sodom and Gomorrah were true then He won't destroy the city. The angels were sent to check the numbers. Well only 2 people were true so the city was destroyed.
I saw this on a tv show once that my parents were watching. I was so terrified when Lot’s wife turned to salt because it basically meant that when she looked back she didn’t trust that God would get her out safely. So I started crying and sobbing to my parents afraid that if there was a time I had didn’t trust God I would turn into salt-
Me too! I actually was afraid to eat salt cause... cannibalism 🤔😰.Then mom let me read the actual whole story and I was beyond confused, disgusted, and terrified...( the incest, date rape, and assault...). Not really for under 12 reading solo😱😔 😑
I heard a message about this story before, basically it said that it wasn't that Lots wife trusted in God, but she had literally looked back at the life she once had, and that you need to keep moving forward in life and not focus on the past. The speaker then connected the story to Jesus saying that we are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13) and how its our job to spread the word of Christ, but we can't do that if we keep looking at the path, otherwise we get "trampled underfoot"
omg. i’m studying greek mythology and there is a story rlly familiar to this: So basically i don’t remember the names but, hades took this man’s wife to the underworld. the guys rlly loved her so he went down to retrieve her. he played her a song and hades realized that they truly loved each other. so hades let her go back with him, only on one condition. he wasn’t allowed to look back at her until they got out of the underworld. he didn’t look back at her for the whole ride. until he reached the near end. he forgot about the rule and turned around to talk to her. then the lady got pulled back down to the underworld.
Oh! I know this one! The husband was Orpheus and his wife was Eurydice. And the day of or the day after their wedding and she gets bit by a snake and dies
and the part when the angels go down to tell Lot but all the guys in the town are like, "hey Lot my guy, we saw you bringing in a couple of hotties and we wanted some of that" and lot's like, "um no yall can have my daughter idc but not my homies." and then the men go "screw you Lot ill kick your ass and we'll have our way with them" and the angels are like "tf you're not" and blinds them. also i swear the whole message of the story is homophobic. the 'evil' people were evil coz they were gay. the word sodomy literally comes frol this story (the story of sodom and gomorrah) do correct me if im wrong

The man knew what was happening and slept like it didn't even bother him. Also, God directly called out some of these people for living in excess and sparing nothing for the poor and needy
I remember back at my Christian private school when we were talking about this story, I asked the teacher if the lady in salt was still there. So like the amazing teacher she was, my teacher spent like 7 minutes trying to find a picture for us and actually found one. Everyone saw and said how the salt looked like a person while I was just there being like “It just looks like a pile of salt to me”
