The best thing about Pop is that he pretends he doesn't care about anything but deep down he cares a great deal about everything.
how is that the best thing 😂😂
@@hooligan5381what a clown lol. It’s not hard to comprehend lil man
@@hooligan5381IYKYK
@@hooligan5381Here let me explain bud. There are certain facets to human being called characteristics. These may be personality related attributes, pieces of emotions that people channel in their own ways, or developed aspects of lifestyle which contribute to an person's identity.
As you may already know, people come from different backgrounds, cultures, family virtues etc... These are big influences in how you present yourself to the world. Some may be common, others may be unique.
So the point is that what's special about Coach Pop is that he may not look like he cares about much on the outside, but deep down he really cares 100%. ❤
I hope you understand now.
The best thing about pop is he has 5 rings.
Pop is an all-time coach, but even more so, an all-time human being.
He is pretty much the god father of the league now
Very cool.... how long have you known him? So cool!
@@bobabooey4537 Are you okay?
He really is! A phenomenal human being!
He was top 5 human of the year and top 10 human of the month on the west during his career
This is actually the first time I've seen Pop tear up.
He teared up during the San Antonio Tribute for Timmy as well, after a great speech. Lovely moment here as well.
I believe he did when Sager passed.
I'm sorry but why is she in the NBA Hall of Fame when she never played in the NBA and her coaching in the NBA wasn't successful at all. They have a women's Basketball HOF where she was inducted last year. But again, why was she inducted to the Men's Hall of Fame?
He teared up when his wife and Kobe died.
@@FreedomFighter2112moron. It's the Basketball Hall of Fame not the NBA Hall of Fame.
Coach Pop is like a proud father watching his daugther grow up and doing her thing he was the most emotional i've ever seen Coach Pop even after winning 5 titles i have never seen him this emotional!!
Well Put 🫶🏾
Her father and mother were a one night stand at a bar. Then her mothers family raised her in Russia and put her on basketball
I wonder how many late lights she came home drunk begging to be tapped! I know Pop couldn’t resist dat ass!!
@@bullpups uhhh yes I am. I know her dad

Spurs were never my favorite, but Pop has got to be one of the greatest coaches ever. I also love the way he stands up to toxic behavior. Outstanding human.
Exact same feelings. An icon in every way possible on n off the court. If there’s anything media has positively is give us insight into the heart behind the heat. In the 90s and 2000s that other side didn’t really get as much spotlight
When you say toxic behavior, what u mean? Exactly?
damn i think this is my first time seeing coach pop getting emotional
the look Pop has, such respect between the two, awesome to see
As a father of a baby daughter I’m thrilled to see female trailblazers in professional sports. Pop knows he didn’t take any chances hiring her. If you have it, you have it, man or woman doesn’t matter.
💯💪🏿
Yep well said
It DOES matter. If it didnt matter, you wouldnt have had to mention it lol.
Sus
@@bobabooey4537I think they were speaking from Pop's perspective. He hires the right person for the job, regardless of gender.
It definitely mattered outside the team. But best of, that wasn't why she was hired.
Seeing pop like that....means a lot 👍🏀🇬🇧
I'm sorry but why is she in the NBA Hall of Fame when she never played in the NBA and her coaching in the NBA wasn't successful at all. They have a women's Basketball HOF where she was inducted last year. But again, why was she inducted to the Men's Hall of Fame?
@@FreedomFighter2112it's the basketball Hof do research before you make redundant comments. You make yourself look like a bigot.
Just be you, what a powerful and affirming thing to say to someone you believe in who is about to embark on something huge

@@FreedomFighter2112It's not the NBA Hall of Fame you ignorant casual. It's the basketball hall of fame. It's all encompassing. Get over yourself
@@FreedomFighter2112I’ll break it down pretty easily for you, numbnuts. The NAISMITH MEMORIAL BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME is (unlike the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton) open for induction for ALL athletes who contributed to the game of basketball, whether they were coaches, refs, players, WNBA players, international players, whole teams, etc. Idk who told you the Basketball Hall of Fame was only for men, but…. Actually, I do. Nobody did.
@FreedomFighter2112 It's the Basketball Hall of Fame not the NBA Hall of Fame. The Basketball Hall of Fame includes all levels of Basketball men and women. That's why she is in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Great coach and great person 👏🏿 👍🏾
No, something got in my eye. Shoot, I’m not crying!
I was proud to have Becky on our San Antonio Spurs coaching staff. She was an awesome player.
If we had just one third of politicians that had the courage and honesty this man exhibits, this would be a much better country for the people.
I love me some Becky Hammon you deserve everything you ask for you worked hard for everything you got much appreicated
Well deserved!!!!
If everyone had a pop like him the world would be a better place
I love coach Pop. He is the opposite of the self serving mentality we’ve seen in leadership that is propped up by swaths of people who claim to be of high moral character. Just be you Coach Pop! Keep being you Becky!
Wow amazing speech
This is one Awesome HUMAN BEING. POP can be hard nose at times, but you could tell he is Fair. I hope he lives to be 100. ❤️🙏.
OUTSTANDING & heartfelt. Thank you. ❤
Pop really making that nickname literal with the way he treats his players and staff 👏👏👏
Coach Pop tries to be a Hard Ass, but really, he's got a heart of gold. From the countless stories of building RELATIONSHIPS and teaching players about life way beyond basketball. He really gave Becky a path to excellence and she has risen to the mantel.
Big & soft inside. Tons of respect for him.
I have never run into a hard ass who didn't have a soft heart...Sometimes being hard is a defence mecahnism to protect that heart because people can take advantage of that kindness sometime
@@taedavis3989 so very true
He's not a good coach though
@@jake-qn3tl that's very arguable. The players that he coached made him the coach he is
Such a sweet fatherly moment. She knows he believes in her!ove this!
This is why people that don't even get along with him at first end up loving the man and feeling gratitude towards his methods, because all he's trying to do is mold excellent human beings above everything else.
This deserves way more likes
😢I’m not crying
This video smells like onions 😢
thats why Pop is HOF and a coach legend..GOAT!✌️
One Legend has been elevated to valhala while the other is currently writing her tale. Beautiful!
These HOF speeches get me every year!
every inductee this year expressed gratitude to Pop in his/her speech. He sure cultivated great relationships with a lot of people. I hope Pop writes a biography someday
I had goosebumps during this whole speech.
Thus is why i love him. A great coach an even greater human
Busted my Heart Wide Open ❤❤❤❤Go Spurs Go
I'm a spurs fan but I didn't know how many lives Pop touched outside the Spurs organization . 🙏🏾
As someone from Rapid City, it has been so surreal watching Becky navigate through her career in this game. Being a Dallas fan since 2000, it was oddly cool seeing her get her chance under the tutelage of Pop. Just a cool overall experience to watch.
Woah, you’re from Rapid City?? I just visited there with my family, definitely one of the awesomest and most underrated/unknown cities in America! Awesome to find someone from there
@@sgrey9181 yeah, I grew up there. I always said that I would love it if there were no people there. Some of the most wretched and racist human beings i've ever had the displeasure of being around. Glad you liked it, though.
@@sgrey9181as someone who lives just an hour from Rapid, I assure you it is not an awesome place 😂
She's from the Soviet Union, I still remember when their nukes were pointed at Rapid City.
Pop is my idol and whom I tried to follow as I coached and played for a small team in RP. I even add girls to my team not because I want to be unique but I want to give everyone an equal chance to do what they love no matter what their gender is. Thank you for this speech.
Excellence ❤ that he is!! Great human being!!
I love Pop... These nba all stars, legends love Pop the same way!!!
If these doesn't move you to tears, then i don't know what will....
Never got to see Red Auerbach, but saw the greatness of Phil Jackson through Bulls and the Lakers, but Popovich is the best coach that has leadership, qualities of a great mentor, and knack of finding talent and utilizing their talent to be part of something big, whether it be finding talent overseas in Ginobili and Parker and making them into HOFers, or reaching out to an established WNBA basketball player to be part of the coaching staff. Underneath the cold stare that he gives sometimes is the man who cares and willing to help people succeed.
Pop is a top 5 human ever
He's the best and I've watched him all my life and his mind on the game of basketball is all him. A book doesn't teach that kind of unicorn 🏀✨️
it's rare to see emotions from Coach Pop. I'm sure the bonding between Spurs organisation is like a family
Pops done so many things for so many people!
Even Manu and Robinson got emotional
The respect and love between these people is real!
Congratulations to Coach Becky
You can tell how good a coach Popovich is by the men who have played for him.
Pop is the best coach of all time for so so many reasons. As a fan of another team I’ve always wanted what he designed in San Antonio
The biggest compliment to anyone would be the fact that they were hired for their excellence rather than their race, gender, etc.
"You didn't hire me to be courageous"
That must've felt great for her
Coach Pop is one of the best to have ever done it. PERIOD!!!
Been a Lakers fan my whole life. Hated the Spurs but respected tf out of them!!! Pop is excellence!!! Look at the Hall of Famers he’s coached and hired as coaches. He’s one of the 🐐’s
As a heat fan growing up to coach Spo vs Pop was so special I miss those times
Pope Pop Popovich of International Professional Basketball. The best of the best NAISMITH HALL OF FAMERS! Cheers from the Philippines
Seeing Becky and pop cry made me cry
Pop is indeed a man of principle and excellence, on and off the court.
Nobody talks about it but I love the reactions of David Robinson. I always see a lot of kindness and sensibility in this guy, really love this guy too ❤
You seen it too. 50 is 1 of1!
Class... doesn't even begin to describe Pop
Pop is amazing, when I saw Becky coaching, That changed sports ever.
She has his heart!
Pop and Kerr are some of the best humans we have on earth at the moment.
POP IS GREAT MAN.
Great post.
My coach. The GOAT coach POP❤
Pop is an all time legendary human being
Coach Pop is a great man!!
Pops is special because he only cares about what really matters.People and love.
World class act right there
Props to Pop!!!
Pop is the man
Pop is the all time goat , of pretty much everything , pop forever
Pop - best ever!
I don't know what got me more: Hearing her say what she said or watching Pop listen to her say what she said. In either case, Pop is _that_ dude and we are fortunate to have witnessed it.
I hope my daughter sees this as she grows up. Both Pop and Becky have opened up doors and shatter glass ceilings for my daughter’s generation to dream and go very high. Thank you on her behalf.
There's 30 teams, why should a women coach over men who played and coached. Women need to leave men's sports alone. Why do they wanna be in men sports anyways other than bossing men.
@@andrewebb3283it has nothing to do with that casual. If she has the knowledge, why can't she coach anyone? Then get all of the men's coaches out of women's sports if you feel that way
I was in attendance what a wonderful induction ceremony
Watching this brought me to tears which I'm sure that a lot of people did as well! I just hope when he does step down she replaces him as the HC of the Spurs!
And the Admiral right behind Pops cheering Coach Hammon on.
I love Pop!
A lot of love in that room.
This video clip Touches the soul
A real class act 👏🏽
One of the greatest coaches of this generation
Pop for President!
Wow, love this
How did you were able to B open about this!? Thanks
Pop is obviously one of NBA’s greatest coaches ever, but he is a far far greater HUMAN BEING, and that means much much more in life.
Never like him when the spurs were winning all those championships, but I learned to love him more over the years. This brought tears to my eyes.
Pop is basketball hes been around and is still around and will be around
Soo powerful
Great moment, and somehow made even better by the great David Robinson nodding and clapping his affirmation(s).
Popovich is one of the greatest leaders in history, and not just in basketball. He is a true leader with strong principles and high morals. If only more men can be great like him.
LEGEND
I’m not crying… someone threw sand in my eyeeeees
Pop is the giga tsundere
Seeing Coach Pop cry hurt
Pop...one of the GREATEST coaches of all-time...Much respect to that GREAT man
I love you Pop ❤❤❤
I'm moved to tears...
I've bled purple and gold most of my adult life, but oh my, how I've wished that Pop was our coach. Phenomenal person...and a pretty damn good basketball coach too
Have you looked at his record without Tim Duncan?
"I know you weren't trying to be courageous when you hired me, but you did dos something nobody else in professional sports has ever done."
She's right. Pop's an all-timer.
I love this coach as a black man i feel coach pop is for my culture and the best coach ever
