I was fixated on that shape for a long time. Used his Target Silica version and Keith Dellers, but went back to thin ring grip straight barrel. Nice review!
I Play dart since February 2022, I test a lot of amberjacks but with 14(27g) I play best… now I order the 25g and 23g to test, I think a hot deal! Good new year
You have a good eye worldwide, I’ve looked at these sooooo many times and never noticed that it’s the old Fitton, love it, it’s a crackin barrel, I’m glad that it’s reintroduced in the amberjack range, good work buddy
Thanks. It's unreal how many times I've looked at that catalog over the years. Then recently when I was trying to identify everyone's Red Dragon 4 packs the Fitton's caught my eye. I was finally able to make the connection. I had a subscriber send me a message this morning showing me that the AMberjack 14 is the best selling dart on Amazon Poland this week. Looks like I must have sold a fair few of them.

Bought a set of these, initially didn't like them... but... stripped the paint (as per your other video) and modified my grip - now really enjoying them! Getting some great groupings with that tapered nose that just seems to turn the point in every time you clip a marker
Great information here! It’s amazing what removing a players name and adding a new paint scheme can do. I bet a lot of players darts could pick up sales with this method.

I've bought so many different variations of darts trying to find "my" darts. Watched this video. And liked the look of them. Bought them. Stripped the paint..... Wow these are with out a doubt the darts I've been searching for. Thank you for putting up this video. I appreciate that every individual has an individual set up.... But I've found my dart soul mates lol. They group so tight for me. And the grip once the paint is stripped. Makes them a much better dart.

Super awesome video today! I find it funny how the Amberjack line of darts always seems to have some kind of hidden story. In the USA the Laserdart Widows were once known as Amberjack’s. Now on today’s video we find another one. I have always liked the darts in the Amberjack lineup.
Spot on! Every so often a hidden gem will appear. But when they do appear it's usually a heck of a deal 👍🏻

I have a handful of different Amberjack models (can't go wrong for $30, or even less with digital coupons from time to time), 14s are definitely one of my favorites of the bunch (big fan of 2s as well, especially soft tip for some reason)
The Amberjack 2's are REALLY nice! I'd love to see them with the paint removed. Might have to do a video 👍🏻

My friend has a set of these. I tested them for a while and they are a very good set, especially for starters.

Well I don't think many people would know i didn't until i started to watch your vids and it's very good you take the time and effort to do these pukka vids 99 out of 100 for the brilliant vid again ww would be nice to see the difference with paint striped maybe we will be treated to a vid with that 🎯👍

Great review as always. I just destroyed my personal best on soft tip with a 4.80 MPR last night with some thin tungsten darts I picked up from DartCorner for $14. My favorite steel tips (see your double agent review) darts I picked up on special for $14.90.
I’ve picked up many other sets from your reviews and love them all but I can testify your opinion that it doesn’t cost a lot to throw good darts is certainly spot on.
It would be interesting to see you specifically go over your top darts and explain why you favor them over others. Can it be explained why some darts feel and perform better than very similar darts. What was the deciding factor? It’s really hard to answer but interesting to hear your take from your own favorite darts.
Basically, when does a person know his search is over and doesn’t need to keep purchasing new darts.

How about a video breaking down all these brand names and who owns who, distribution channels, etc. I'm still pretty new to darts and I can't help but feel I'm getting hustled.
Thanks. Long story short, yes, we're kinda getting screwed by a lot of these companies. Specifically here in the USA. I have no idea what country you're from but there's a TON to avoid here. For example, in this video I showed the Red Dragon Silver Widows. They used to cost $16 when you ordered them from the UK but here in the states they sold for north of $100. So in some cases there is extreme hustling going on.
@@WorldwideDarts I'm in Los Angeles. I was thinking more of the Nodor/Winmau/Red Dragon connection and others like it. Where do outfits like Thornton darts fit in? I'm interested in how manufacturers brand and market their darts products
@@1972vulture The more I research about these companies the weirder it gets. Take Nodor for example. They used to sell a boatload of darts on Amazon USA with totally made up (aka fake) names.
Have a look right now at the Red Dragon Raiders on Amazon for $20. There's no such thing as a RD Raider. Those darts are actually a Winmau Navigator dart.
I believe the reason they do that is to NOT step on the toes of their American distributors by underselling them. So they just make up a BS name and sell them off cheap.
Thornton is just an independent custom dart designer. He helps people create darts then has them made somewhere. He's really good at what he does.

I have a set of those "Raiders", decent dart but cuts are a bit too sharp for me
@@1972vulture Target used to make some of the old Designa darts. Might have even been the V180 line of darts. Not anymore though. I do know that Darts Clearance aka Retriever Sports makes a lot of the darts for many companies.
Remove the paint, put in some freeflow points and you got a nice dart!! Cool story though. Great review WW. 👍

Started as a complete newbie darts player 4 weeks ago, bought a set of these amberjack 14s in 23 grams. Got a 140 yesterday so they throw good when I do my part. Might try different stems though.
Did you know about the backstory with these darts before you bought them?

I just got some RD razor edge blacks in 24G as my first set of darts. I really like the look of these and even feel like it might suit me quite well. Just wondering what your thoughts are on new players either grinding on a set of darts or is it not a bad thing to spread out and try some other things while getting used to the game. I reallllly like the fallon sherrock darts and I know you have thrown both would you say for a newer player would it be wiser to just buy the amberjacks which are way cheaper. also I either have to go 23g or 25g so they will be 1 lighter or heavier than my current set up.
The Amberjacks remind me a lot of her darts. As a new player I'd recommend these over the Dynasty darts. On top of that you could customize these which I think would be a lot of fun. Remove the paint with acetone, repoint them and you have an AMAZING set of darts.
And that's the thing, there's so many incredible and affordable darts on the market right now that it makes sense to shop around and experiment a bit. There's the Darts Clearance darts that cost around $22 shipped and they pump out different darts all the time. If I was a new player I'd be buying from them often.
Can’t go wrong with a set of Amberjacks.
